Editorial Reviews

Review

A must-read business guide for women at any level, in any industry. -- Donald J. Jacobs, Dean of Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management

No matter where you are in your career, this book will help you gain an understanding of not only where you might want to go and how to get there, but also where you are and how you arrived there. -- Judy Freeman, partner, KPMG LLP

Susan challenges women to be true to themselves, to follow their passions, and to be honest about their strengths and weaknesses. This is no ordinary self-help book. Thanks to Susan, and the talented women she interviewed, the glass ceiling will cease to exist! -- Janet Tiebout Hanson, president & CEO, Milestone Capital, founder, 85 Broads

The New Success Rules for Women is a clear, concise primer that is designed to help women who are on the way up get there faster, smarter, and happier. -- Geri Brin, president Brinsights, producer of the Women & Co/FORTUNE conference

The New Success Rules for Women is refreshing and welcome. Researching the next level of professional success deserves our attention. The New Success Rules encompass the subtle, such as the reminders to "never apologize," as well as the obvious but more difficult admonitions that "if you don't ante, you can't win." In sharing the insights of successful women, Ms. Abrams constructively confronts the 90s clich of "having it all," suggesting instead comfort with an evolving process of making choices, developing support and blending one's professional and personal passions with integrity, persistence, stamina and optimism. It is time for this book and its focus on initiatives and realistic responses to guide a woman's journey through her career and active lifestyle. -- Corinne Ball, senior partner, Weil Gotschal & Manges LLP

The New Success Rules is like having some of the world's best mentors by your side, whenever and wherever you need them. It provides practical information combined with inspirational thinking on the challenges that we all face in our careers. Reading it adds years of experience painlessly. -- Pam Talbot, president & COO, USA, Edelman Public Relations Worldwide

This book provides sound advice for women in the early stages of establishing a business career. I wish I'd read it earlier in my own! Many of these situations were familiar to me and I underlined several sections for sharing with junior associates (both women and men!) in my firm. -- Karen J. Curtin, executive vice president, Bank of America, N.A.

Women are achieving with a new style; one of grace and elegance, and combining it with feminine leadership. This book captures the true spirit of women who have succeeded in business. -- Michelle A. Rosen, department director, McDonald's Corporation

You'll be torn between keeping this book within easy reach and passing it along to your friends and colleagues. -- Benita Levy, managing director, Salomon Smith Barney

[C]ompelling lessons from women who have succeeded in today's toughest business environments. -- Julie Bick, bestselling author of The Microsoft Edge
