Essential for Literature and Film Studies Students,
By Tiffany Yecke (Richmond, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The New Testament in Fiction and Film: On Reversing the Hermeneutical Flow (Biblical Seminar Series) (Paperback)
Kreitzer takes a scholarly and a pious stance as he writes his analyses of moveis in light of scriptural texts and truths. He looks both at works that are directly biblical in nature and those that espouse some form of biblical concepts and gives execellent insights into both literary and cinematic productions. Though there are many writings avaiable that discuss these topics in literature, Kreitzer's is one of the few books I have found that gives equal attention to films as well. (It is also meticulously footnoted.) I strongly reccomend this book for those who are studying films or literature, or simply for those who wish to gain a deeper insight into some of the great works of the Western canon.
