Caution! Different Hardback, March 19, 2005
This review is from: The New Testament in Modern Speech (Hardcover)
I really liked what I had heard of this translation, the portions I had seen, so I bought the hardback version here on amazon. The other reviewer seems to be referring to a totally different edition. I do not think they should be linked as the same bible only being differnt in binding here on amazon, because if the other reviewer is accurate concerning the other edition, it sounds very different from this one.
This hardback edition (light blue with red writing on cover as seen in advertised picture space) has a size of about 5.75' X 3.5' inches. Yes, it's tiny, and on the inside flap it is called a "Pocket edition".
It also seems that this edition is different from the original Weymouth or something. One of the reasons I bought it is because of the translation I had read from it of Romans 5:17 which I originally read as, "For if, through the transgression of the one individual, Death made use of the one individual to seize the sovereignty, all the more shall those who receive God's overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in Life through the one individual, Jesus Christ."
However, in this version Romans 5:17 reads, "For if, through the transgression of one, death entered on his reign by means of one man, all the more shall those who receive God's overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign in life through the One- Jesus Christ."
Which translation is correct? Did Weymouth ever update his translation? Regardless, it seems clear that this version is quite different and I am disappointed with it.

Review Three, December 1, 2009
This review is from: The New Testament in Modern Speech (Hardcover)
When I finally received this little book, I was extremely disappointed! I had expected this to be a much larger book with much larger print!

Love it, but NOT from Copeland Publications..........., March 8, 2006
This review is from: The New Testament in Modern Speech (Hardcover)
The Weymouth NT is excellent, and is probably the most accurate NT rendered into understandable English, and I would highly recommend it to anyone serious about accuracy in bible study.
However, a warning: There is an edition put out by Kenneth Copeland Publications which has been altered from the original edition put out by Weymouth. In Matthew 25:46, Weymouth CORRECTLY renders it as "Punishment of The AGES" (caps mine), whereas Copeland shamefully inserts "eternal punishment" into his edition. This is altering the original koine Greek meaning of "kolasin aionion". SHAME on Copeland Publications for doing such a thing. DO NOT PURCHASE this edition from Copeland Publishing. It is NOT the correct version.
