The ultimate in disco-core,
By A Customer
This review is from: New Transistor Heroes (Audio CD)
Bis are a fun band. They make you think, but above all they make you wanna dance. Comparisons could be made to a less annoying and abrasive Atari Teenage Riot with their techno-beats and punk rock guitars and male-female vocals, or Nation Of Ulysses with their youth-power anthems. The drawback with this album is that it's much too long. If they pared it down to about 12 songs, it'd be a great album. As it is, it's just well above average.

Cute and catchy, Bis can be labelled as candy-pop music. Be warned: Bis has a very unique sound which may take some getting used to. However, anyone who loves music and commends a diverse musical taste looking to expand their interest - THIS ALBUM IS A MUST!!! Do not pass it over for kiddy music just for its fast, clever, catchy beats. I am a college student who cannot get enough of this infectious sound. The lyrics, like the music, are also very unique & clever relating to a sci-fi yet totally modern tone. Some may here this once and shove it in the bottom of their cd collection, i was nearly one of them, but just give Bis a fair chance and you'll be greatly rewarded. Soon, w/o even realizing it, you'll be infected too!

High-Energy Fusion Music,

During one of my friend's "musical exchanges," he lent me a copy of Bis' "This is Teen-C Power!" I immediately fell in love with the three teens from Scotland, and scoured my local music stores looking for anything by this amazing band. After a long search, I found this CD, sprung the money, and initiated myself into the Teen-C Nation. This CD is a 73 minute stomp and romp through punk/disco fusion, complete with piercingly satirical lyrics and a charmingly skewed view of the world. You won't be dissapointed unless you're a Skinny Tie :)

this is a great album. im glad i got it. i listen to it all the time. well, not alllll the time, but a lot. you would be pretty smart to get it. you won't here it on the radio much, as where i'm from, so if you get the real thing, you've got all the time in the world to listen to it. it's grade A material.

Bis is fun, smart if not intellectual, & very danceable. Having met them on both their visits to Australia I have found them to be nice w/ no rock star pretentions. I don't listen to them all the time but when I do, i don't regret it. This is a diverse & amusing album & you can see that a lot of effort & enthusiasm went into making it. Monstarr for instance is a good anthem for those who don't care what others think of their image etc....

I first heard them on MTV's twelve angry viewers, (one of my favorite shows because you can see some lesser known bands) and I immediatly fell in love with the smart, and lively beat to "Tell It To The Kids" I bought the album the following day, and was shocked to find every song, good as, if not better than, tell it to the kids. Fans of the popular rock star Beck will get a kick out of them. I highly recomend it.

Again Bis has managed to get teens up and dancing. The indie band from Glascow Scotland has done it again. This is their first full length CD and it has as much power as the Secret Vampire EP and the single compilation of This is Teen-c Power. Bis is alredy known in Great Britin and Japan. You don't have to go to coffee shops and live the astethic lifestyle to like this this kind of indie (unlike some bands like conershop who are becoming well known). All you really need is the ability.

an action-packed piece, 'new transistor heroes' is the tale of a youth revolution known as 'teen-c power.' with their comrades the 'sweetshop avengerz', the 'secret vampires' and the 'icky poo air raiderz,' bis ponders the substance of life and love with questions such as, 'is hate really negative, is love really positive?' truly a remarkable work, this is destined to be a classic. END
