This review is from: New Tree Biology set, (Hardcover)
This review is not a final judgment on the value of these books, but just some information to others who are considering buying them. What I thought I was getting, for $300.00, was a definitive and comprehensive reference set on trees. Why I thought that, I'm not exactly sure, since the product description is vague to non-existent. What I got was a random collection of books, apparently everything the author has ever written, and much of it is redundant. Since it was self-published and not peer reviewed, I really have no way of knowing if the author is a genius or a kook. It is certainly obvious that he loves trees. I am looking forward to delving into these books, and I will write a more complete review when I've given them a more thorough examination. At first glance, I would have to say this set of books and pamphlets should have been priced around $60 to $70.

Here's what you get:
1. A New Tree Biology. Hardback. Copyright 1986. 618 pages.
2. Modern Arboriculture. Hardback. Copyright 1991. 423 pages.
3. Tree Anatomy. Hardback. Copyright 1994. 104 pages.
4. Tree Pruning. Paperback. Copyright 1989. 186 pages.
5. Tree Pithy Points. Paperback. Copyright 1999. 160 pages.
6. A New Tree Biology Dictionary. Paperback. Copyright 1986. 132 pages.
7. 100 Tree Myths. Paperback. Copyright 1993. 81 pages.
8. Tree Pruning Basics. Pamphlet. Copyright 1986? 34 pages.
9. Tree Basics. Pamphlet. Copyright unspecified. 40 pages.

At the very least, someone who loves trees so much might have updated and condensed the material into one concise volume that didn't take the lives of so many trees. Then again, maybe I'm the only sucker who bought "The New Tree Biology Set", and the trees are relatively safe.
