I generally do not leave reviews but felt that I had to speak up for this product. First thing first is the iPad2 definitely needs a back cover because it will get scratched on the bottom, even for the light user, which makes it a little less than perfect :(. In any case, I have used 2 other cases already and this is the best so far. I really like this product thought I did not expect to. I thought it would be heavy and bulky since it looks like that in the picture but it is not! I originally purchased the Zaggmate because I want my iPad2 to function like a mini laptop when I need it to. Zagg provides a great keyboard that is comfortable for typing and least errors in typing (mimics a full sized keyboard the best). However, it did not protect my iPad entirely as it leaves the back exposed, which I was aware of when I bought the product. But what made it not work for me was when I dropped my purse with my iPad/Zagg in it one day, and I'm glad it happened because it changed my mind about the product and about the level of protection I needed, the corner of the Zagg dented. Mind me, I had the iPad/Zagg enclosed in another bag to protect the entire thing. IPad fared the drop great, but the Zagg was no longer the same shape. I could not imagine how I can rely on it to protect my iPad for even one year. The color/paint of the Zagg was also coming off from being put on tabletops just from regular light usage. I cannot allow that to happen on a 100 buck product with just 3 weeks of usage. Needless to say I returned it.
Which brings me to this product. I had bought a "leather" case with keyboard and this at the same time to do a comparison. I am typing this review on the Trent and so far am liking it. No problems. On the other hand, the leather case's keyboard has its right "shift" key in a far right position and I keep hitting the "end" key when I try to use "shift". Very frustrating indeed. So be aware of the the keys' positions on a product before you purchase it.
Another thing that is simply the best about the Trent is that it encases the entire iPad. It fits the iPad2 perfectly, unlike the leather case which is too big for the iPad2. In horizontal position, insert the iPad bottom first and then gently push the top of the iPad into place with a click. The Trent is smooth and well constructed. The rotating screen option is just really cool. It may feel like the case does not close strongly but it does. The feel of the case is just great and feels "expensive" compared to other the cases I have tried. The keyboard does not look cheap and it works well (connects fast and stays connected after some time of not using, unlike the Zagg and the leather case's board which needs a moment to reconnect after being idle for a few minutes) and it comes with a keyboard silicone gel cover as a bonus. What's amusing to me is that the ipad is capable of looking like a miniature desktop computer :). I definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants your iPad protected with a professional look and have a case that feels smooth and nice at the same time. This product is no joke. I am very happy that I decided to purchase it. It deserves more than 5 stars!
