I was disappointed to find that since the author is from the United Kingdom that measurements are in the metric system instead of the household system. Also, I discovered that there is a new reprint of this book with the same recipes titled, "Fresh and Fast Vegan" where the measuring system has been revised. I would save my money and buy the other edition instead.

I have an entire bookshelf full of vegetarian & vegan cookbooks, and this is the one that I return to every time. This book is all about inspired modern cuisine, with no hint of the boring, repetitive offerings contained in many vegetarian & vegan cookbooks. This is the only cookbook that I have prepared every single recipe from - most of them on multiple occasions. All the recipes are really simple to prepare, but have such original flavour combinations that they always taste like they have come out of the kitchen of a top restaurant. Whenever I have a dinner party and want to impress with no fuss or stress, this is the cookbook I turn to. I have had many a carnivore request the recipes for the dishes I have prepared from this book.
