Far more than New,
By Evelyn Roberts (Solvang, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A New Vision of Astrology (Paperback)
I was fortunate enough to find a copy of A.T Mann's book 'The Round Art' in a used bookstore several years ago. I was so impressed by the depth and breadth of vision and knowledge in this book that I was particularly eager to acquire his latest offering. As a professional consulting astrologer and teacher myself I find this book little short of amazing and revolutionary in its concepts and accuracy. I encourage all my clients and students to enrich their own lives and astrological understanding through exploring the ideas and techniques revealed herein. This is a book that should be turning the astrological world upside down. What is presented here really works, and opens up a whole new dimension that is immensely life-enriching and unprecedented. And the beauty of it is that it will be understandable and useable to the complete beginner, and a source of fascinating new information for even the most knowledgeable professional. I would be extremely surprised if anybody who really takes the time to study this material could think otherwise. It is a priceless gem.

A Quantum Leap Forward in Astrological Analysis!,
This review is from: A New Vision of Astrology (Paperback)
People studied and practiced astrology for at least five-thousand years before A.T. Mann read his first astrology book and asked himself why the Eighth House deals with death and transformation. Why not the Twelfth House, since it's the last house? In his latest book, A New Vision of Astrology, he explains why death and transformation belong in the Eighth and not at the end of the zodiac. The answer is simple, as is usually the case, when a brilliant, questioning, and intuitive mind realizes something basic that everyone else missed. The zodiac does not end with death, or the intense bummer of self-undoing and open enemies. It is not limited to two dimensions. Visualized as a spiral with the Sun at the center moving through space dragging us and our solar system with it as it orbits the galactic center, Mr. Mann transforms our view of the zodiac from a static circle into a cylinder that astonishingly resembles the spiraling structure of DNA. He added the dimensions of depth and time to the zodiac and redefined the Eighth House as the house where our consciousness can be reborn, or elevated to a higher and more mystical plane that enables us to understand the mystical insights of the Ninth and Twelfth Houses as well as the real roles of the Tenth and Eleventh Houses, which properly understood and navigated, prepare us for the final cleansing that we will experience in the Twelfth that rids us of everything that stands in the way of our enlightenment. There's a lot of other good stuff too. As my hero Joe Bob Briggs would say, asuming he's into astrology, "Check it out." Just don't look for it at a drive-in, if you find one.

New Vision difficult to see without data...,
By
This review is from: A New Vision of Astrology (Paperback)
A New Vision of Astrology sounded very interesting to me from the information I found on the back cover... "A horoscope begins at conception rather than birth, incorporating gestation - the most formative period of life". This is an approach I haven't learnt much about so I was eager to find out more. The author, A.T. Mann, has had more than thirty years of experienced in the astrological field and has worked with thousands of clients through this time. Some of his other books include Life Time Astrology, Astrology and Art of Healing and Sacred Sexuality. After reading this I was more than looking forward to discovering this new way of looking at a birth chart. I was also excited by the Special Bonus offer that gave each reader a free, personalised horoscope chart. Unfortunately, when I went to the website given and not only couldn't I get my free horoscope, but the link for the email address didn't work! Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but I was disappointed that I couldn't put to use some of the interesting information I had read about in the book, such as The Archetypal Ages of the Houses, where the different houses represent in a very thorough and exact way the different ages from conception through to death. I found the theory and ideas sound, interesting and definitely worth looking at. For me the author exposed me to a totally new way of looking at a birth chart that I found useful. More than half the book is made up of interpretive text which proves very useful for the novice and experienced astrologer alike. This book is aimed at the beginning but has something to offer most people with an interest in looking at a birth chart in a different way... especially those involved in psychological astrology. Therefore, I would recommend A New Vision of Astrology to readers who are just learning about astrology and to those that have a good understanding of it, but are interested in learning different methods of interpretation. Perhaps the problem with the website/email address has since been fixed. Alternatively, it may have been available for a limited amount of time from the publishing date. Even with the mentioned problems this book is still worth taking a closer look at. |
