Scott Johnson's 4th CD, New Voices features five singers including Denver’s Matthew Moon, Cabaret Diosa’s lead singer David Sherman, Rebecca Mesple and Garret Shelsta. Musicians include drummer Christian Teele, bassist Chris Engleman, keyboardist Taylor Mesple, trumpeter Dawn Kramer, guitarist Mark Oblinger, Nashville session fiddler Hank Singer, and Johnson on keyboards.

Product Description

Boulder, CO musicians Scott Johnson and Mark Oblinger wanted to do something positive and see if popular music could actually make a difference in the quality of people’s lives.

Funded mainly by a $10,000 investment from a couple Johnson met while playing his music at a workshop in 2002, New Voices New World is the first of a series that will provide musicians a place to express — in a positive, constructive way — the kind of world and future they want to create. "This is music about what we are for, not what we are against," said Johnson.

With a variety of musical styles ranging from pop, rock and blues, to jazz, Latin and Irish, New Voices New World features songs written by Johnson, produced by Oblinger (a former member of Firefall), and sung by five singers from the Boulder/Denver area.

I love this CD! Scott Johnson has a real genius for writing and singing music from the heart. His message is unabashedly positive and loving, yet this uplifting music in neither saccharin nor sentimental. The production values on New Voices New World are top notch. I highly recommend putting this music on your iPod and listening to it with good headphones -- there's magic and healing in the lyrics!

Scott Johnson has managed to create upbeat, uplifting music with lyrics that speak to the heart and soul. How refreshing! What a great way to rejuvenate, regenerate and re-energize one's spirit!

Scott Johnson's music is inspiring and is a positive reflection of life (as opposed to the dysfunctional relationships and people portrayed in most of our music).

His newest CD, New Voices New World, portrays a variety of musical styles and singers. which I find very appealing. His words speak to creating the future that you want, deepening your relationship with yourself, and being present. He truly does make change sound inviting!

Scott Johnson's previous CD, Dreams In The Making, is hard-driving and makes me want to get up and dance and sing along with all my passion. New Voices New World, Volume 1 is gentle, making me want to sit back and reflect and remember. It's also great to play in the car, while I'm reading or doing a project or even washing the dishes (all great opportunities to listen and reflect).

If only we had more songs like these - can you imagine turning on your radio and hearing one of THESE songs?!
