5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product
Well, after trying about every brand of shampoo to get rid of my dandruf problem, none of them helped. So i decided to go with this product based on 1 review it had, i took my chance. After the first use, i noticed the difference right away. My hair was soft, and after about a month of using this Shower filter, my dandruff is about 95% gone. I am really satified with this...

2.0 out of 5 stars chlorine-free?

2.0 out of 5 stars chlorine-free?, March 23, 2008
I received my Enviro shower filter a few days ago. Interesting to see so many glowing reviews here about this product. I wonder how many have actually tested it.
I did. I used a Hach colorimeter to accomplish this.
I first tested my unfiltered sink water and got 1.02 mg/l of total chlorine. Then I tested my 3-stage undersink filter water and got .01 mg/l of total chlorine. I finally tested the shower water with the Enviro filter installed and got .55 mg/l on the colorimeter. The test was done on the third day of use of the filter, and the sample was taken at room temperature after letting the shower run for a few minutes.
This filter does appear to remove about half the chlorine (1.02 to .55 mg/l in my test), but I still have it's package which clearly states "..a year of natural CHLORINE-FREE shower water..." on the front.
That is clearly not correct!! I intend to contact them about this.
I've tested other shower filters and they all mislead..not one removes 100% of chlorine, and some none. For me, it seems the only solution would be a good whole house filter.
Needless to say, no, I am still not getting that 'april fresh, clear mountain spring' feeling stepping out of the shower.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny!, April 25, 2005

You won't believe how much difference a shower filter can make, & this one is wonderful! My brush & comb just glide through my long hair now, instead of dealing with tangles & hair braking off. My skin is so soft, even without a moisturizer. My soap & shampoo lather much better & I'm able to smell the scents so much better. I'd highly recommend this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars New Wave Enviro Shower Filter, September 25, 2005

This is the best shower filter I have tried. I suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and have Atopic Dermatitis. It is vital that the water I consume and put on my body be as chemical free as possible. The filter needs changing about once a year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!, December 6, 2006
I noticed a tremendous difference in my skin and scalp the very first time I installed this shower filter! My itchy scalp was not itchy any more. I figured I had an itchy scalp due to the shampoo that I had been using, although I switched between several good quality shampoos. This shower filter was what made a difference! Definitely try it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Difference, September 18, 2005

The municipal water where I live has so much chlorine and other things in the water that you can easily smell it in the shower. Because of that, my skin and hair were just about always dry. Chlorine is added to municipal water to kill living things such as bacteria and virii, and since we're living things, it tries to kill us too. Unlike a pool, most people shower every day at least once.

In the shower, your skin absorbs this chemical and you inhale the chlorine gas when it steams up. This is highly toxic to your body.

Installation of this filter was a breeze. I'm absolutely horrible at most do-it-yourself things, but this took me less than five minutes to install, and that includes finding a wrench.

After only a short time of using it, my skin is softer, my hair is manageable and soft and easy to comb, I use much less soap and shampoo, and I feel generally better; healthier.

I would highly recommend this filter. The feeling and health benefits far exceed the cost.

I have been using this shower filter for almost a year. Within 2 weeks of using it, I noticed a difference in my skin and hair. My only complaint is that the filter needed to be replaced after six months instead of one year.

I was very impressed with this filter. I live in Memphis, and this time of year is very cold. My skin gets more dry, and my back itches the first part of the morning. I did some research and learned chlorine dries out your skin. I also found out chlorine is an actual poison that was used in the first World War, but now is added to water in small amounts to kill micro organisms. Weird.. So, might as well remove it from the water! It installed easy, and you immediately notice no chlorine smell on your skin. It's like showering in hot rain! Your skin is softer afterwards, soap lathers up easier, your hair is thicker and styles easier when you dry off, it's just win-win. I'm adding another one to my shower in our lakehouse too, and I'll tell friends to get it. $37 isn't bad at all for this. A+

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Fabulous, and quite frankly, Awesome, October 11, 2007
I've been using this filter system for TWENTY YEARS. Need I say more? OK, I will. My hair and skin are awesome. My peers use conditioner on their hair... me? rarely. And, I usually have long hair. (fine, blonde) I can go a month or more without using lotion on my skin as long as I am getting enough EFA's from my food. I have used this system in Washington, D.C.; Arlington, VA; Los Angeles, CA; and now in Salem, OR. The latter two have very hard water. Until I have great well water I'll keep using it. And even then if the water is really hard I may still. I really notice the difference when I visit family back East as they don't have this in their shower.

PS The housing that holds the cartridge is just starting to look like it is going to split vertically at the threads that connect to the water inlet pipe do-hicky. I noticed that the last filter change I did. Hows that for value on the dollar, easy-ish on the Environment etc? It will be interesting to see how much longer I can get out of the housing before the plastic just shatters.
