Disappointing and deceptive,

I bought this book thinking it was the original story, as it was first published in 1900 under the title A New Wonderland. That book took place in the country of Phunniland. When it was reprinted in 1903, it had a new introduction, some minor revision, a new name for the country, and a new title: The Magical Monarch of Mo. I already have an edition of The Magical Monarch of Mo, but I wanted to compare the two titles. It turns out, however, that this book is not A New Wonderland at all. The text is just The Magical Monarch of Mo, with no alteration or explanation for the old title. This is not the book I wanted at all. If anyone wants to read this book, I recommend the Dover edition of The Magical Monarch of Mo (ISBN 0486218929). It is not only cheaper, it has the original Frank Ver Beck illustrations, color plates, and a stronger binding. A New Wonderland is a poor, unillustrated print-on-demand version, and not worth your time or money.
