5.0 out of 5 stars More than useful
Tupa's book is still one of the two "bibles" for Jewish needle-workers, the other being the original "Work of Our Hands". This volume is loaded with inspirational ideas and kicks off all sort of creativity. I admit that I have had the honor of meeting Mae, and she's just as creative and inspirational in person. In my opinion, this book is a must for beginners and a fun...

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting - gets your mind churning with future projects
An nice and easy discussion of jewish symbols and projects. Makes you start thinking about others ways to incorporate judaica into your work. I would have like to seen more photos or projects from around the country or world. It looks like she included just her friends' work and projects.

LOVE this book. Have loved doing unique, beautiful needlework for decades, and I had been looking for a book that would allow me to do needlework that would literally be a work of art. This book didn't disappoint at all. The photos, illustrations and directions are wonderful, and inspiring. I venture to say that it may well inspire you to design and make your own original religious theme needlework.

Not exactly ready made, but includes a lot more than I thought it would. Can be adapted to many uses. Can't attest to its accuracy, though I assume it is so. As a bonus (since it didn't occur to me it would be included), are words and phrases and Hebrew lettering.

4.0 out of 5 stars one of the nicest around, July 8, 2009
This review is from: The New Work of Our Hands: Contemporary Jewish Needlework and Quilts (Paperback)
I always love books about jewish crafts. Not so many "adult" books to be found on this subject.
Of course on can see it is a bit older by now ( I have had it for years ), but it still has got some very very fun projects and designs.
