4.0 out of 5 stars Good big band sound
This is a good album with great horns. I liked the arrangements. Newer big band music without sounding too "smaltzy", if you know what I mean. Very enjoyable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Sucks
This guy doesn't hold a candle to the masters like Fontana, Rosolino......Check out Conrad Herwig or Bob McChesney for some real playing

5.0 out of 5 stars great album, February 24, 2006
This review is from: New York Big Band (Audio CD)
From the start, with the clean, swinging version of Limehouse, this is a cookin' CD. With the likes of Rich Perry, Barry Ries, Scott Robinson, Joel Weiskopf, Lynn Seaton, Rick Margitza, hey, everybody on this album, it would be hard to miss. Fedchock has certainly paid his dues with the best, and his writing and playing are excellent. I picked up this CD because a band I'm playing in is doing his chart Nightshades, and I wanted to see what they did with it. Beautiful stuff. It seems to be crafted for Weiskopf, Perry and Fedchock himself with slightly outside minor blues changes that float dreamily over the walking rhythm line and suit their improvisational styles perfectly.
