This review is from: New York Beauties: Quilts from the Empire State (Paperback)
I borrowed this book when I took a trip to upstate New York. The combination of book and tour was really fun. This book shows a wide variety of antique quilts made in New York state, from colonial times up to the early 20th century. It's divided into periods, and connects the quilts to political, economic, or social history of the times. There's a great selection of quilts in the photos. My only complaint is that I would have liked some of the photos to be larger. This is not a pattern book. But if you would like to learn more about the history of quilts, or you would like a new angle on the history of New York, this book will please you.
