From Library Journal
No native New Yorker, resident, or visitor to the city should be without this unique treasure trove of information-a handbook, calendar, history, and guide rolled into one. Everything from navigating the streets and waterways via gypsy cabs, buses, subways, livery services, and the Staten Island ferry to procuring theater seating charts and concert schedules is included. Museums, exhibit schedules, art galleries, libraries, opera schedules, stadium seating plans, emergency phone numbers, and more are here. Nothing is omitted; there is even a brief summary of local government offices, histories of nearly everything, and a 400-year chronology of the city's development. One caveat: Although no indication is given, this will have to be updated annually or risk early obsolescence. Recommended for popular travel collections.
