Funny & fun as hell. I gave it to my daughter, who's pre-law. Turns out the game has nothing to do with law, though you do get to sue people for crazy things like "coffee spilled in your lap so cold it causes frostbite." My 10-year old loves it too. I give it a 9 out of 10.

I call this a pleasant surprise because I wasn't expecting that much; I bought this game for my wife as kind of a joke because she's a litigator. We sat down to play and who'd've thought it would end up being a really cool game? It has elements reminiscent of Monopoly but it's a totally modern game -- there's a good bit of competition and bluffing. I think it's really a game for 3 or more people because with two there are some things you can't do (like be another player's lawyer, which my wife and I thought was really funny), but we still had a lot of fun. The actual things that happen to you -- the reasons you sue -- are very cute. Anyhow, it's refreshing that there's finally a new game that isn't just trivia or Cranium or some variation thereof!

I bought this game for my nine year old son because he loves working with money and loves the game Monopoly. He likes this game, but I found it a little long and boring. If you wheel and deal and negotiate side deals, you can make it more fun. The first time we played it was just the two of us, and it was not fun and the bank ran out of money. We played again with four people and it was a better game. I was diappointed in the quality of the game board and markers, and think it is quite over-priced at $29.

My favorite game is Acquire. I can't find a copy available, so I bought "So Sue Me" in the mean time. Mainly I have a lack of affinity with the general attitude necessary to play it. Also I found myself at a point hoping to lose the game already, so we could end playing and go do something else.

Win the game by bankrupting your opponents. Last one standing with money wins. How do you get money? By sueing your opponents. You win the lawsuits based on the result of the roll of a die. There are some cards, called 'unfair advantage' and 'fortune' cards that also affect the players' cash situations in either positive or negative ways. This is definitely not a strategic game. This is definitely a game you would play for the experience with your friends and not something you play with the goal of winning. First off, I personally don't like the premise of winning by attacking other players rather than working to advance yourself. I know it is a fine line to distinguish between the two, but I much prefer games where each player works to better their position by not detracting from another's position. Secondly, one player could be doing very well the entire game and BAM someone steals the game out from underneath them, game over. Just a personal preference of mine - I don't care for games where one could lose everything they have worked for the whole game in the blink of an eye. The game is well made, I will say that positively for it. The tray in the box fits all the components in it nice and neat for tidy storage. My advice is to pass on this one. There are SO many more games out there that are much more fun than this. Looking for a light group game? Try Apples to Apples, Scruples, Memory Madness, Imagine Iff. Looking for something with a little more strategy, but not overboard? Try Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan or Acquire. All great games in my book. |
