This review is from: The New York Mapguide (Paperback)
We took this guidebook with us to NYC 3 weeks ago and found it invaluable. The level of detail is wonderful, and the size is compact enough to fit in a purse or totebag. We used the book multiple times throughout the day for the subway map, the streets, locations of landmarks and other popular spots, the footpaths in Central Park, and on and on and on. I would highly recommend this guide to anyone going to the City.

This was just about the most helpful of the guide books I bought or read prior to our recent trip to New York. Very helpful and worth the money. Great maps and current information.

I also purchased a DK guide to NYC. I found this map more practical than the DK guide, and easier to read and carry.

This outstanding Broadway Playbill sized booklet, 64 pages in all, covers most of Manhattan only skipping East Harlem, and parts of Inwood. There is not much to fault these highly accurate maps containing landmark, shopping and entertainment information, except to say it is very colorful, informative, and detailed up to the point of information overload. The only one issue that can be a concern are the way Subway stations are marked, as red encircled "S"s with only the name of the Subway stop (not the subway line) listed next to it. To look up a subway station, one must refer to the included subway map. Also included in the guide is a map of the Bronx Botanical Gardens and Bronx Zoo, a map of Brooklyn's Prospect Park, neighborhood information, and a general calendar of events and festivals. rkchin. view more map reviews at http://www.nychinatown.org/bookstore/index6.html

In a recent visit to NYC, I referred to the maps in this book constantly. The suggested walking tours are excellent, too. This book played a key role in making the big trip to the Big Apple enjoyable. Easy to carry around, too!

A Must Have In NYC,

This review is from: The New York Mapguide (Paperback)
Every year I go to NYC for a couple days vacation and this book comes with me everytime. It is small enough so it can fit anywhere and small enough that you can have it out and nobody could tell it is a map. It looks as though you are just reading a book. I have bought other guides but they never compare. I would recommend this mapguide to anyone visiting the best city in the world.

GREATguide to Manhattan,
By
This review is from: The New York Mapguide (Paperback)
I went with some friends to Manhattan, and bought lots of different map books to easily get around. Upon getting to NYC, the New York Mapguide wasa the ONLY book we used. The information in it was everything we wanted, and more. It was so complete. I recommend 100% to all those going to Manhattan, that this will be the only book you'll use too.

Fantastic reference, and the maps are even better. There is no need to buy any other book. A bargain at twice the price.

Of the four items I purchased to help me navigate NYC, I would rate this as my second choice. It bills itself as a unique publication with information to enjoy Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx and it lives up to it's promise.
This would be my number one choice it I were staying in NYC or visiting with my family. It has tons of tourist information, is very easy to use and very detailed. It has a section titled "Interesting Walks" which is very nice for anyone who would like to stroll the city and take it all in.

This map/guide book really makes planning a trip to NYC much easier. Use it as a supplement to other guide books like Fromer's. It contains good, basic information and provides a great reference for Manhattan's places to see and things to do with colorful and detailed maps.
