The prolific Frommer (Shoeless Joe and Ragtime Baseball, LJ 2/1/92) tells of the Yankees, Giants, Dodgers, and Mets, as well as a host of forgotten teams. He doesn't unearth new material so much as make the gleaming by-roads of history come alive. New York area libraries should add this. Kalinsky has produced a beautiful photographic spread on the Mets from their origins in 1962 to the present. The photos are mostly color, and the team's key figures are depicted. If you're looking for a lot in the way of a full-blown team history, however, you're in the wrong place. However, if you'd like a nice, hardcover, coffeetable book full of nice Mets photos, this is a good buy. I think this title is out of print, but you can probably find it in good condition (and cheap) on [the internet] Good luck. Let's go Mets!
