I haven't finished watching the movie, but it didn't really give me what I was looking for. I was looking for a documentary style of depiction of the Harlem Renaissance, which I guess would've been hard to do. But I also wanted just more information about which artists unwittingly started the revolution and what significant social events and political events occurred that would have influenced artists and their works and the climate of blacks coming up in the world after WWI through the 1930s or even 40s.

Not quite what I wanted. I feel it was lacking in detail or richness of content. To me, the cover image suggested a more upbeat product.

I was disappointed with this vignette. There were many more names and histories that should have been added to this work. If I live long enough, I may take on that task myself.

I really wished for more about the Harlem Renaissance, but it was a solid documentary. The footage was great, but the narration was a little amateurish.
