Wide spectrum of all kinds of haunts in NY,
By Ghostlady (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New York State Ghosts, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This is a very full 352 pages of all kinds of hauntings around the state of New York. There is no lack of any area you might be interested in: haunted houses, inns, offices, and public buildings. The writing is well done and appropriately mixed with verbatim firsthand accounts. I especially like that Mr. Pitkin includes a photo with most of his entries so it's easy to picture the settings as he describes them in detail. With its wide variety of interesting accounts, I'd definitely recommend this book.

If you're looking for stories that are scary or fascinating or even mildly entertaining this isn't it. Pitkin makes the supernatural into something pedestrian and very, very boring. Avoid at all costs!

This book is written by a sensitive, psychic writer who definitely took his time researching his stories and unobtrusively investigating the hauntings and interviewing the people involved, and most importantly TALKING to them, with compassion and ease.
There are all kinds of hauntings documented here, from hotels to rentals, to apartments and public buildings. The stories vary in length and detail, reminding me that psychic ability varies by a wide spectrum from person to person. The interesting histories, which Pitkin engages, are quite possibly recurring on a grander scale than those interviewed were able to experience and relay to us. But thankfully, this is only one of several books by the author, all of which are at least 300 pages long.... Ghosts of the Northeast New York State Ghosts, Volume Two Haunted Saratoga County

Great reading; knowing that these stories came from "real" people! We all experience happenings from the unknown--now someone has finally put together a bunch of great readings--all of which happened in New York State and Long Island!!
