Can't beat the price for this very complete almanac. Over 1000 pages of interesting world facts. Everything from world news (for 2005), world history, geography, Academy Awards, science, business, as well as complete lists of sporting event winners (Olympics, football, baseball, etc. like Michael J. Fox used in "Back to the Future"), and much much more.

Although probably everything in this book can be found on the Internet, it's actually handier for me to use this book to find information.

If you've never had a good world almanac book before, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the shear volume of information in this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good, January 3, 2009
This review is from: The New York Times Almanac 2006: The Almanac of Record (Paperback)
I brought this for my 21 year old son who does not like to read that much. He read this cover to cover. He thought it was very interesting and even asked me to buy him the updated version. Finally something he likes to read!
