This was a Christmas gift for my New York Times reader son. He was so surprised, said WOW, and all the grandchildren, aunts, uncles hovered around him forever to find a specific subject, etc. We all enjoyed it.

I purchased this book for my son who is 20 years old. He never really reads and I thought he would flip through this and put it on the shelf. He has told me that he has read this book from cover to cover, and keeps it by his bedside to read an exerpt every night. It got him interested in reading and learning. I have never seen my son on fire for knowledge like he is now. This book is a great source of information and highly recommended for anyone who has not discovered the joys of reading

I had looked at some other Almanacs before buying this one, but found that this one seemed to contain much more information, and that the information was exceedingly more detailed then some of the others. I highly recommend this almanac.

How do they pack so much information into one book?
The New York Times Almanac has become the 'first place to check' for me, and I get the updated edition every year. History, statistics, background information, little known facts. I'm amazed the number of times I turn to this book and find the answer I was looking for without having to dig further into the internet, publications, or other sources. Additionally, I feel confident I'm finding information that's accurate and verified. Can't imagine my desk without it.

Not what I expected.,

Although the NYTimes Almanac has different information than the World Almanac, and that information is welcome, it seems that is has more of the type of information I am not interested in. So it is difficult to make a sound judgment without my using it more.

This is a very unique multifunctional stop watch. Complicated to get it to work but well worth the money and glad I purchased it.
