For all of you diehard New York Undercover fans waiting for the detective drama to surface on DVD some day, this selection will walk you down memory lane quenching your thirst in the interim. It was definitely a flashback ride! Listening to this CD, I could actually pin each of the songs to a particular episode and scene. You will enjoy it. I also recommend its sister soundtrack - New York Undercover: A Night At Natalie's.

....I was into getting a bunch of these 90's soundtrack CDs because they usually turned out to be a compilation of singles from various artists rather than the Jerry Goldsmith/Lalo Schifrin/Bernard Herrmann style of instrumental orchestrations to fit the filmed scenes...there's nothing wrong with those and I would not have been disappointed if they had put more of the James Mtume instrumental pieces threwn throughout the TV program in this CD, but what they've done here is aii-ght. All cuts are good and they even forshadowed a Guy reunion and K-Ci and JoJo Hailey in their first "non-Jodeci" cut. I particularly digs from track 7 on...the Lost Boys' "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz and Benz" and a great groovin' slow jam by Anthony Hamilton and Terri Robinson "I Will Go" sets it off right. This CD has been somewhat hard to find...it's great Amazon.com has it.

I had purchased this cd about 4 years ago in a store and loaned it to my brother and never got it back. Since he like it so much, I let him keep it. I finally found it! I love Amazon.com

I love this cd!! I was never very interested in rap but the few rap songs turned me onto it. I love listening to the music and thinking about which episodes they came from. Too bad they couldn't include every song they played on the show.

Great Underrated Soundtrack!,

This one never got the mainstream attention that it deserved as I thought the soundtrack to New York Undercover was one of the best out there at that time!
It starts mellow with Mary J. Blige's cover of the classic "Natural Woman." It picks up with songs like "Dom Perigon" by Little Shawn, "Lex, Coups, Bemiz and Benz" by The Lost Boyz and a good wedding type song called "Baby I Go" by Anthony Hamilton w/Terri Robinson! Even artists like GUY, Heavy D. and Monifia make an appearance here. I compare it to the "Living Single" soundtrack which came out at the same time with one big difference....."NYU" had its theme music on its release! That's why I give it 5 stars whereas I gave "Living Single" only 4. Overall, its a very good piece of Hip-Hop music. It was worthy of the show itself!

This used to be my favorite show! It had the coolest, hottest detectives. Even their boss would talk some trash. This takes me back to Natalies- they had all the best people perform.
