Just misses being a perfect workout,

Kari Anderson provides the best instruction and cueing I've ever seen on aerobics videos. She's really the one who leads this routine with Linda Evans just being "along for the ride" so to speak. It's a great routine. The aerobics section is broken into three 10-minute segments. Beginners to exercise can start with just the warm up and first 10 minutes, then add segments as they improve in fitness until they do the full 30 minutes of aerobics. Kari provides different levels at which you can do the routine. However, I think the lowest level would be horribly boring. The highest level is a good challenge for an advanced Beginner or early Intermediate. I like the muscle isolations Kari includes, the focus she brings to the body parts being worked, and the form tips she gives along the way. The warm up and cool down are both good. The music is soothing rather than stimulating. My one complaint (and what keeps this from being perfect in my eyes) is that throughout the routine, but most noticeably in the warm up, their steps get out of sync with the music. I find this very disconcerting. If you can overlook this flaw, it's probably the best aerobic dance video that a Beginner can buy.

I bought this video for my mom at a video store close-out sale last Christmas. We did the workout together nearly every day for the 2 weeks I was there (to add some light cardio after doing Kathy Smith's lower body workout video), and it was just great. A very beautiful setting, and soothing in tone. I also liked the wide age- and size range of the women in the video. They do a great job of introducing the steps so that my mom could do all of the moves correctly, and the pacing and cueing are impeccable. Mom would stop after the first couple of segments, and I would finish it. While it may be a little too easy for the intermediate or advanced, it's very nice for someone starting out/getting back into exercising, or for pairing with a strengthening workout. I've tried to find a copy of this video for myself, but unfortunately it is out of print.

This tape is great for beginners or for those days when you're not up to a high-energy workout. Kari Anderson is a wonderful instructor and she shows multiple levels for everything. The people in the video look like real people and seem to be having fun. The music is low key and jazzy and the scenery is great, too.

My 5 stars is for the beginner looking for a great video. I haven't done aerobics in a few years and I found this tape a perfect pace to get me back in the groove. You really can make of the workout what you want with alternative movements and steps. The conversation is low-key; not too perky. The music is soothing, but upbeat when necessary. But the best part is the forest setting. It's a lovely background to look at for the many times you'll play the tape. Good luck!!

Easy, I don't feel like exercising exercise video!,

I use this tape when I have been sick or have been feeling lazy. The funny part is that I still end up getting a good workout. Ten minutes intervals are marked in the video so you can stop after 10 20 or 30 minutes. The people exercising look like real people. This is a good tape to have in you fitness video library.

This is a longtime favorite of mine. Sadly, the VHS I have is getting worn out and, even worse, so is my VCR. I sure wish I could get a new copy in DVD format. Kari Anderson is the best of all the trainers I have in my considerable library of workout videos. At age 60 and with bad knees, I can no longer do most of her routines, which are usually designed for intermediate to advanced exercisers. But this one I can do because it is low impact and doesn't require a dancer's stamina, and I work up a good sweat in the process. Highly recommended for women in mid-life and older, or who are new or just getting back to exercising. I'd rank it somewhere between beginner and intermediate in its intensity, depending on the level you choose. . . and there are people to follow for all levels.
