The author interviewed NZ nurses, sevicemen, and also US servicemen who spent time in NZ. First hand accounts of what living in New Zealand was like during wartime. The stories are entertaining, and enlightening, from a disappearing generation. As a Kiwi, living in the states, it was like sitting at the kitchen table and talking with these people. With a cup of tea, of course.
