Hands restorer, hands preserver: one of the best inventions ever,
By
This review is from: Newgrip Weight Lifting Gloves (Misc.)
Here's just how good NewGrips are. For various reasons, I was unable to row for two months. Practically a lifetime in rowing terms, especially if your hands suffer from both carpal tunnel and arthritis. But yesterday I got back on the rowing machine, slipped the NewGrips on over my wrist braces, and did 7,000 meters without the slightest tingle or numbness in my hands. Then the next day I did it again, and the day after that. Still no symptoms. No one should ever row, or lift weights, or sweep, or do a thousand other things that are [...] the hands without NewGrips.
NewGrips are, quite simply, one of the great inventions of all time. Using NewGrips, I expect to be rowing well into my old, old, old age. All in all, NewGrips are wonderful beyond words. And if all that doesn't convince you, look at it this way: if you have bad hands like mine, NewGrips will give them new life; if your hands are still in good shape, NewGrips will keep them that way. TIPS... 1. For those who wear carpal tunnel braces: To keep the NewGrip pads from tearing tape a strip of Dr. Scholl's molefoam over the top of the metal section of the braces. 2. If you wear CTS wrist braces order the NewGrip wrist straps one size larger. Works like a charm

Great for people who can't afford callouses,

First off, what separates Newgrips from all other workout gloves is the fact it covers the WHOLE hand including the finger tips. If you have longer and somewhat larger hands than average (I'm about 6'5), this will be incredibly useful in protecting your fingers from unsightly callouses. I work in a client intensive job which requires me to shake hands with at least three people per day and don't wish to embarrass myself with rough hands.
I've used gloves by Valeo & Harbringer, however the problem is that the gloves do not cover the finger tips and for gripping exercises such as shrugs the weights take a toll on my finger tips. With new grips, after about 6 months, my hands are now callous free If you're a musician, the grips work great to keep dexterity for pianists, keeps away finger callouses for guitarists, and the wrist straps add a little extra support for drummers. The only problem that I find (which is negligible to me) would be the padding. The current padding is sufficient however extra padding would make it luxurious. Other than that, I find the best pair of workout gloves I've used and would not hesitate to buy another set if I lost them. I've had my current pair for about 3 years and I work out 4-5 times a week, yet I still don't see any need to replace them.

Great for rowing machines,

I recently got these for use on my rowing machine, based on another review read here, and I can't agree more. These gloves work perfectly for this application, and since using them, the callouses I had built up are receding again.

They protect where they should protect,
This review is from: Newgrip Weight Lifting Gloves (Misc.)
I like to try out new product. This is one of the products that I like. Here's 3 basic reasons:
1. When I life weight, gloves protect my palms. All gloves are doing the same job, aren't they? NO! This pair is mainly focus on the palms. The products on the existing marking is wrapping your whole hand which is not necessary. 2. Since this pair of gloves focus on your palms, you hands can ventilate pretty well... If your hand sweat like I do, they do relief the situation while you work out. 3. It's cheap.. They only cost you less than $20. You should try out this product. I feel odd at the beginning because I don't feel like I'm wearing something on hand. But one I get used to they, they are pretty cool. I mean heat won't stay in your palms anymore.

Rowing machine gloves,
By
This review is from: Newgrip Weight Lifting Gloves (Misc.)
I bought these gloves specifically for use on the Concept 2 rowing machine. They work ok - until about twenty minutes into my workout when I start working up a good sweat. At that point they tend to slip towards my finger tips despite the wrist strap [the gloves are 'flexible' enough that the wrist straps really don't keep them in place while rowing]. By thirty minutes into my rowing session, I find myself concentrating way too much on keeping my gloves in place by constantly repositioning my fingers to keep the gloves in place at the expense of concentrating on rowing form. I have stopped using the gloves, and have gone back to plain weight-lifting gloves. I would not recommend them for long distance rowing if you are going to sweat.

With these gloves my grip is perfect. It makes it easier to workout, and since I've starting using them my calluses have started to heal. I recommend these to anyone

Newgrip wraps,

Got them in the mail yesterday, and tried them out today. Absolutely loved them! Did a chest and back routine to assess the push and pull potential of these new wraps, and they proved to be awesome. Worked equally as well during my push (chest routine) as it did during the pulling aspect. The wrist warp portion gave my wrist great support as well. Would definitely recommend it.

Very frustrating,

Bought these for my wife so that she could work out with kettlebells (she had started getting blisters from snatches). They seemed like the perfect idea and both of us were excited to see how they worked. Got them in, read and re-read the wear instructions before getting them fitted properly. Initial feel was different but comfortable (since this is utterly different from regular gloves that was expected). I left for work and came home to a damaged set sitting on my desk. The issue is that the neoprene grips very well and gets pulled heavily during snatches as the handle on the kettlebell rotates. The velcro attachment sewn to the neoprene creates a weak point that results in tearing immediately if the material is stretched at all. Had very high hopes, but this is not an effective tool for kettlebell work. If you use it for activities that do not result in a lot of rotation in your grip (which really stretches the "grippy" neoprene) it may work fine.

Good for Gym and keeping your hands away from germs.,
By
This review is from: Newgrip Weight Lifting Gloves (Misc.)
I find these gloves extremely useful. I ordered a medium size which seem a little small on me. My main reason for ordering these was to protect my hands from unsightly callouses. Another reason was I do not want to share germs with the previous user who fails to be considerate of other gym users. The wrist straps will get sweaty and smelly so you need to wash them every so often. I would agree with the previous user as far as grip is concerned. Bare metal free weights tend to have a slipping tendency with these gloves. weight equipment with rubber grips work well with these gloves.
