Just got this doll as a gift, and we could not believe how realistic this doll is! It is incredibly anatomically correct, and even comes with a bandage over the sore looking umbilical cord stump! Amazing. Unfortunately, the doll is also outrageously perfumed. The perfume is so strong, it gave me a headache within ten minutes of having opened the box. Even my four year old wouldn't play with it because the smell was so strong. I'm sure it is mostly to cover up the vinyl/plastic smell that would otherwise be unbearable... The doll is made in China, and according to a representative from the company, it does contain phthalates (a known toxin that helps make plastic soft). Unfortunately, I've searched for alternatives (realistic looking dolls) from other companies, and the only ones I can find that come anywhere close to the visual quality but made with non-PVC, phthalate free vinyl come from Europe (and are MADE in Europe, whereas this one is a European company that uses factories in China) and cost more than four times as much as this one... Luckily, my four year old doesn't require such realism, and is happy to have an anatomically correct soft, fabric doll (non-toxic and machine washable) such as a "Baby Bottoms" one...

I'm awaiting a reply from the company regarding a return...
