What a great find! Made in the USA and specially designed for rough service operation. I switched out my CFL's in my two garage door openers with the Newcandescent bulbs. Not much else to say.

I purchased these directly for the company website. I was going to purchase some in every watt but then I read some of the reviews so I bought only 100 watt and tested them out. These 100 watt are only slightly brighter than a 40 watt bulb. Another reviewer said they had the same light as a 60 watt and that might be about right. They are definitely not as bright as a 75 watt. Was very disappointed as I stocked up on bulbs before the ban but was hoping to have a new source. I dont want to use the mercury bulbs they are forcing on us now. I plan to use these for things like the porch light and the garage door lights. I had an electrician tell me once that if light bulbs blow out a lot in a particular room to switch from a 120 volt to a 130 volt and it worked wonders for me. The room that I had to replace bulbs in all the time didnt need any after I made the switch. these are 130 volt bulbs and I think they will last longer in my garage and I dont need it to be lit up real bright in there. I recommend these for those things I have suggested above so that is why I give it 2 stars but for actually usage as a 100 watt bulb for reading or lighting up a room after dark these are a very sad replacement for incandescent bulbs. I am hoping that the company will continue to work on it and actually produce proper wattage in the future as I would like to use them as a source for safer healthier bulbs.

We purchased two boxes mail order of Newcandescent light bulbs several years ago, for three reasons: because of the law that went into effect this year, because we wanted to support an American entrepreneur, and because we were tired of replacing the bulbs made overseas when they blew out after just weeks of use. The Newcandescent bulbs we have purchased have lasted remarkably well, in fact, when we were able to get rid of the store-bought bulbs, I do not think we have had to replace any light bulbs. We purchased both 60 and 75 watt bulbs, I would recommend the 75 watt, since they seem a tiny bit dimmer than their cheap counterparts. These bulbs pay for themselves for the simple reason that they rarely have to be replaced. Very happy with their performance.

Be advised that these bulbs are not from the factory in Indiana. I contacted Newcandescent personally and was informed that these are NOT their bulbs. TKO lighting made a label with Newcandscent's name on it. I was told these bulbs are made in china NOT the USA as adverstised

I thought I'd replace a bulb that burned out in my basement with one of these. When I screwed it in and turned it on, it immediately burned out again frying my socket. Haven't worked up the nerve to try another one yet.
