About the Author

Jon Gorey and Gina Favata were married in 2007 on one of Boston's Harbor Islands. Gina holds an M.A. in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College, and Jon is a singer/songwriter, best known for his 2004 anthem, The Scarlet Letter - which may or may not have helped the Red Sox win their first World Series in 86 years. In between wayward bouts of international wanderlust, the two have made homes in Allston, the Back Bay, Brighton, Cambridge, Quincy, and Somerville...and are now looking at you, Jamaica Plain!

5.0 out of 5 stars Helped me relocate to Boston, June 7, 2009
This review is from: Newcomer's Handbook For Moving to and Living in Boston: Including Cambridge, Brookline, and Somerville (Paperback)
After visiting Boston, purchasing this book, and reviewing the forums on city-data.com... I have successfully relocated to Boston. It provided lots of info that you can't find anywhere else. Well, you can find it other places but it's WAYYYYYYYY easier when it's in one book. Anyone pondering relocating to Boston should pick this up AND visit the city. You can't go wrong if you do both.

This review is from: Newcomer's Handbook For Moving to and Living in Boston: Including Cambridge, Brookline, and Somerville (Paperback)
My boyfriend and I recently purchase this book before our move to Boston, and it has been such a big help!! This book literally has information about everything you would want to know when moving to a new city - it has practical information as well as info on the different events that go on throughout the year. It was very useful especially in terms of renting an apartment, and it provided really helpful descriptions of the different neighborhoods in Boston. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is moving to or is new to the area - it's a fantastic resource!
