The Mac Pro has a unique hard drive mounting system that makes installing drives very easy. Unfortunately, it's designed for 3.5" drives. I recently purchased the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid hard drive which only comes in 2.5" form. This bracket did the trick. The drive connects to the SATA connectors on the adapter very well. The fit is perfect. Then, the drive is fastened to the bracket with four screws, holding it firmly in place. The bracket is metal not plastic (shocking to find these days) and doesn't bend or flex - making it ideal for mounting in the Mac Pro's drive brackets. The other important thing about this adapter is that it is the only one I've found that allows mounting with screws into the top of the bracket. All other adapters I've found only allow mounting with screws in the sides. The design of the Mac Pro requires mounting from the top, thus this is the only bracket that works.

This worked exactly as described, and functioned perfectly for putting a 2.5" SSD into a 2007-era Mac Pro. Solid construction, and it's pretty foolproof to slide the SSD (or it would work on any 2.5" hard drive, I suppose, not just SSD) into the connection-extender, screw the drive down to the converter bracket, then mount it as you would a 3.5" drive. Very handy.

I installed this in a 2008 Mac Pro with the bottom screws into the bracket and the included screws into the SSD. It's perfect and works as advertised! Great product and there's not a lot of sane options for Mac Pro owners, especially prior to 2009, for SSD brackets.
