I just can't believe what a great scale this item is. Not only is it sold at a great price and the most visually attractive scale I have ever seen, it works perfectly too. Each time we weigh twice to check the accuracy of the readout, it displays exactly the same reading. We believe it to be quite accurate also.

Purchased as a second scale for use at beach house. Reads 1.4 lbs heavier than our original (booh!) but is attractive, easy to read. Turning the scale on is harder than expected -- we do a little toe lift of the unit and it seems to work better than the tap called for in the directions. Would purchase again.

This scale rules...very accurate readings. You just have to lift it up and set it back down to turn it on. Highly recommended.

I bought this scale in January 2010 (a year ago) and it is still working great today. As far as I can tell (based on comparisons with the scales at my gym and doctors office), it is accurate within at least a half pound, probably closer to a tenth of a pound. As other reviewers have mentioned, you do have to sort of lift it up with your foot and then drop it lightly for it to turn on, but I haven't found this to be a problem at all. I bought this scale to help me keep track of my weight as I was losing it, and it is very sensitive. In my case this was good because, as I was weighing myself under the most consistent bodily conditions possible, I was able to see that I was steadily losing a little bit of weight each day and be encouraged by this result. So yes. This scale is a great product, especially for the price! And, on the more superficial side of things, it looks pretty sharp, too!

The negative reviews are pretty misleading. This weighing machine is so easy to switch on. Just lift it with your toe, slightly drop it, it switches on. It isn't tough at all. It looks wonderful, and I got this product after a lot of research, and I will say that this was the best price available for such a machine:- looks good, easy to use, has worked for me for 6months now, good pricing.

I read the positive and negative reviews and still bought it considering they said it was a very accurate scale, even though they had intial problems getting it turned on. After waiting almost 2 1/2 weeks for it to arrive it was back ordered, and when it finally arrives it does not work. I am very upset and disappointed. So I am thinking the batteries are probably dead. I go to walmart buy batteries for $5 and still it does not work at all. I bang it after reading reviews of others having the similar problem, mine still doesn't worked. So my mechanically inclined husband unscrews the screws on the back/bottom of it and there was the problem the negative and positive connector wires were broken off. My husband sodered them back on, and low and behold my Newline Well Balance Digital Glass Scale works perfectly. All I have to lightly touch it and it turns on, no banging or lifting like other review I read. just a light touch. It also seems pretty acurate too. I even put in the old batteries and works so it wasn't the batteries its their poor internal wire construction. So that's why I gave it a 2 stars. Hopefully this scale won't kick the bucket soon. Time will tell. So now I am happy with my cool glass design scale.

I got one. Big error. It just broke two months after buying it. Not only that, it never worked properly. Don't lose your time. Get another.

This scale turns on and off with an internal movement sensor. At times, I have to lift the scale up and place it back down for the sensors to activate. Once it is working, the weight seems to be accurate. The scale is a beautiful glass that looks beautiful in the bathroom.

Imagine my surprise when I stepped onto this scale for the first time and it informed me that I had gained 20 lbs in 4 days. I trust the previous reading since it was at the beginning of my annual physical. So I tested it against four other scales, all which were within 4 pounds of the Doctor's scalle. The final straw came when a guest used it and found, to her chagrin, that she had gained 22.5 lbs during her nine hour road trip from Flagstaff to Los Angeles.

I was looking for a simple, nice looking scale to track my weight loss. I really enjoy that it measures your weight down to a fraction of a pound. Fantastic. Great Value.
