I wish I had purchased this years ago. It's accurate, very small, easy to use, and nice to look at. It is a must-have item for bakers! The glass measuring plate comes off for easy cleaning. The only thing I don't like about it is that it only gives weights in grams/ounces, i.e. doesn't automatically bump up to kilos/pounds.

I really like the look of this scale-- it's much less junky looking than some of the other plastic ones (though this too has a plastic base). Its compact size is also handy and the tare feature works well. My one concern about it, though, is that the glass that you rest things on is a little bit wobbly and things can get a little off balance-- not enough to make a huge difference, but enough to get things off by a few grams at times.

Geat product. The scale is small but functional. It takes up very little counter space so you can leave it on the counter. Also looks great because of the contemporary style. The quality is very good. Easy to clean and easy to understand function keys. The best value I have found. Very fast delivery.

Great Looks, Accurate I guess, but very cheaply built. The tempered glass scale platform is held in place by a step down plastic stem, which will break if in any kind of mis-loaded/side loaded/off centered position.
I don't bad mouth most products that I buy, but the title says it all, great looking junk.
Getting me to the point of not buying anything made in China, but that is not the point, the manufacture sets the goal post, the factory just delivers what they are told to. I personally will not buy anything branded by Newline again.

This scale is great, it looks good, made well. It will adjust to the weight of the measuring bowl you use with it. Works great and is very accurate. Much more than the manual scales out there. If you want a very good scale to measure all your foods this is the one to go with. Plus it looks great on your kitchen counter.

Careful with the glass surface! Probably should stash the top in a drawer to avoid impact. Easily switches form metric to standard. Runs on easily available button batteries. Shuts off promptly when not in use.

I have never purchased a food scale before and wasn't sure how to choose one. This was a great choice. You can set a plate or bowl on it and hit the tare key to get it to reset to zero, so you know you're only weighing your food. It's been really helpful to control portions, particularly in determining a true portion size for meat. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and it looks nice on the kitchen counter.

The Newline Champagne Digital Kitchen Food Scale does what it promises to do. This scale enables you to put a container on it, press a button, clear it, fill it and get an accurate measurement of the just the contents. It wipes clean easily and I can even leave it on my counter (something really has to work and look well for me to leave it out). The price was very good and so far I have been very pleased with the scale.

I bought the scale a few months ago. The glass platform did shake a little bit when you put food on it, as somebody else said here. But I put a piece of paper towel on the metal stick before I put the glass plate on it. It does not shake at all anymore and measures as accurate.
Also I was stupid enough to rinse the whole scale under running water the other day. The scale got wet inside and would not turn on. Then I unscrewed all the screws, opened the top and just let it dry overnight. It worked again next morning and measured as accurate at it did before it got wet! (I have a bowl which weight exactly 94 g. I use the bowl to calibrate all the scales I used :)). So I can for sure recommend this product - it is very stylish and durable!

update: a little over a year later the scale died :( I changed the battery but still it would not work. Basically at first it started to say that a banana weights 5g, for example - which is not realistic and no near the true weight. Now when I turn it on, the reading will go up every second by itself even if there is nothing on the scale. It will just show 5,8,10,14,20,28,34 and so on...sad...I really liked it.

My husband and I love our new scales - it's so much easier and accurate than using a weight based scale and comes in handy for both food and soap making.
