Fig Newmans,
This review is from: Newman's Own Organics Fig Newmans, Low Fat, 12-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
Fig Newtons are tasty enough, but I like the taste of Fig Newmans a little better. If you've tried a fig product before, you'll know they're odd, but uniquely tasty. I'm seldom in the mood for something figgy, honestly, but Fig Newmans have all the flavor of the original with less of a processed aftertaste. The figs are just a little fuller and sweeter in these. Try 'em; you might like them better, and since they're organic they're better for you as well. Ignore the "low fat" designation--it's a selling point, not something you'll likely notice in the taste, I sure didn't.

Tasty, Disappointing, Organic Junk Food,
By BookwormX (Pensacola, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Newman's Own Organics Fat-Free Fig Newmans, 12-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
Contrary to the maker's claims, this product is not made with whole-grain flour. Instead, the first-listed ingredient is "organic unbleached wheat flour," an unhealthful, refined carbohydrate. The product is sweetened with common, refined cane sugar and corn syrup. All things considered, this product is nutritionally equivalent to common grocery-store fig newtons, except for the claim that it's "organic." Snacks like this could be made with healthful, nutritious ingredients; unfortunately, this one is not. I would not choose to buy it again. Instead of this junk snack, I would choose Barbara's Whole Wheat Fig Bars, which are made with real whole grains and sweetened with fruit juices.

newman offering,dairy free,,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Newman's Own Organics Fig Newmans, Wheat-Free & Dairy Free, 12-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
This is a clean tasting ,dairy free, wheat free, fig bar(cookie) .No saturated fat , 0 trans fat,60cal, 13g carbs per cookie, just a little on the sweet side.{Note later added:the drawback is the corn syrup which I overlooked ,reducing above rating to 4 stars} Still, it`s a great buy at 28 dollars for 12 packs.(But they didn`t get it quite right.)The palm oil is okay, as long as it is not palm kernel oil, or worse, fractionated palm kernel oil.If you see those last two ,keep movin.
