5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising quality for the price
I bought one of these at a local furniture store for $80+...and it deteriorated in the washer or dryer, so I needed to replace it. I didn't want to spend another $80 so I took a chance on this one. I thought it would be cheap and plastic-sheet-like, but its just like the expensive one I was replacing. It has a nice rubbery membrane and a terry top with nice, stretchy...

Please save yourself the mistake of spending $10 on a mattress protector that is NOT waterproof. I learned this the hard way when I used this on my daughter's twin size bed. She tends to have accidents, and we soon found out that this "waterproof" mattress protector did absolutely nothing in that sense. It was essentially useless, and everything leaked right through...

High quality, safe for washer / dryer use. Won't melt like the "plastic" waterproof mattress. Even if waterproofing isn't your concern, good for keeping sweat / body dander off the mattress. I got one for every bed in the house.

Please save yourself the mistake of spending $10 on a mattress protector that is NOT waterproof. I learned this the hard way when I used this on my daughter's twin size bed. She tends to have accidents, and we soon found out that this "waterproof" mattress protector did absolutely nothing in that sense. It was essentially useless, and everything leaked right through. In hindsight, I wish I had just spend the extra $ and bought the same kind I have on my bed, Luna Premium Hypoallergenic Waterproof Mattress Protector http://www.amazon.com/Luna-Hypoallergenic-Waterproof-Mattress-Protector/dp/B002AQJOFO/ Yes, it's more expensive at $35, but trust me when I say you won't regret spending more. I wish I had put the $10 I wasted on this crappy one and put it towards a Luna brand!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE--Not waterproof in the least!!!, April 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had hopes for this mattress pad as it had many good reviews but unfortunately it is not waterproof at all. We have had it for 2 months and just recently test drove its waterproofness. The liquid went right through the mattress pad as though it wasn't even waterproofed. Luckily, I had another mattress pad under that that saved the day. Do not buy for children's beds or any other situations in which you need waterproofing. I would return it but for ten bucks it doesn't seem worth the effort. Disappointing!!!

This review is from: Newpoint Terry Full Waterproof Mattress Protector (Kitchen)
This mattress protector is NOT waterproof. I purchased this to protect my bedspread, etc. from a cat that I have that periodically will pee on my bed. Thinking that I could just remove the mattress cover and put it in the wash when he does this, however the pee went completely through. I have purchased a replacement at a local dept. store. If you want a TRULLY waterproof mattress cover, do not purchase this item.

1.0 out of 5 stars does not protect from fluids, April 7, 2010

The very first time we used this it failed. Liquid was not stopped by this "protector", and went straight through to a now not-so-nice mattress. Completely worthless.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Even Water Resistant, October 7, 2010

Bought this to protect mattress from elderly incontinent cat. While the terrycloth did absorb a tiny bit, the accident went straight through. So now my matress needs to be cleaned and as a bonus I have a brand new, good for nothing cover to send to the landfill.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!, June 23, 2010

These aren't so cheap when you figure in the cost of a ruined mattress. I bought two of these for my twins' beds. Not only are they completely NOT waterproof, which we learned the hard way, they also fell apart when washed per the instructions. I've learned my lesson and won't buy the cheapest thing out there again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Newpoint terry waterproof mattress protector, November 19, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the best waterproof mattress protector. It has a soft terry cloth covering so you don't know it is there yet it protects the mattress from any kind of spill.

1.0 out of 5 stars cheap, April 10, 2010

I got this mattress cover because of others reviews being good. The waterproof part on the back was thinner than plastic food wrap. And with 1 washing on the gentle cycle it tore off. I was had. In the future I will have to see it first.
