This review is from: If No News, Send Rumors: Anecdotes of American Journalism (Paperback)
Looking at the 1991 edition of this book, it is difficult to reconcile the Library Journal's review with the text. The book contains a nineteen-page index and over forty pages of notes on the chapters. There are twenty-four pages of black-and-white photos and drawings, from Thomas Nast, to the Yellow Kid, and on to Barbara Walters interviewing Richard Nixon. The anecdotes themselves are often funny, sometimes shocking, and nearly always illuminating. The only other thing that I wish it had, would be an update for the last twenty years. |
