Editorial Reviews

An energetic blend of pop, soul, and gospel, Canadian-based band Newworldson introduced its fresh sound to CCM audiences with the release of Salvation Station in 2008. Salvation Station received rave reviews from critics, including ChristianityToday.com who called it one of the top 1 albums of 2008. Now on February 9, 2010, the industry buzz band returns with its highly-anticipated, self-titled follow up project. Produced by Newworldson and Justin Koop, the album features additional production by Tawgs Salter (Josh Groban, Elliot Yamin, Lights) on the lead single "There Is A Way," now charting at Adult Contemporary radio. The 12 song album packs a power punch of funky grooves, danceable rhythms and praise-inspiring lyrics, fashioning a style that is uniquely Newworldson. Recorded at B Town Sound in Burlington, Ontario, the record also features guest appearances by The Toronto Mass Choir and Michel DeQuevedo on percussion. Additional songs include "You Set The Rhythm," "Listen To The Lord," "Rocky Road," and "That's Exactly (How I Like It)," currently at Christian Hit Radio. Renowned for its thrilling live performances, Newworldson has shared the stage with artists like newsboys and Kutless and has been featured on major slots at festivals both in North America and Europe. Don't miss your chance to see Newworldson for yourself in 2010 to see what everyone's raving about!

This is the musical equivalent of a Lays potato chips. I would challenge anybody who loves GOOD music, Christian or otherwise, to listen to this album one time and throw it away. This is music that meets people wherever they are and draws their heart to Christ. AMAZING...I'm definitely the newest fan on the Newworldson bandwagon. This music and it's message is truly in my soul.

You can listen to this music in a church, at an outdoor venue, in a smokey bar, on the radio and I'll be singing it in the shower in the morning...the Spirit of God is in THIS music...this is music you don't just listen to. This is music that you feel. It gets under your skin, in your head and in your heart. This album is also a very well produced album...Newworldson is an amazing band. This album should be the standard by which faith-based albums should be judged. God is in this music...buy it now.

What an awesome album! I saw NWS at a small concert and the Holy Spirit was STRONG. The music on this album just makes you want to rejoice and praise Him. Every song has a small message and it's a little different than the typical music on the radio. You Set The Rhythm tells how God can just set the whole pace of your life if you let Him. God take care of your needs and make you feel safe and secure like In Your Arms. No matter your situation or the obstacles in your life, There Is A Way to the Lord. Do Your Believe In Love speaks of just how powerful God's love is. Both Rocky Road and Weary get right down to the heart of some old time Gospel. And the song Jamaican Praise Medley is just a plain, outright fun praise to Jesus and the Holy Ghost!

When you're done with this one, or see them live, you can't help but feel moved. I keep thinking about what the lead singer said when I saw them live. He said, "I'm taking you to church tonight, and it might be strange, but its gonna be good." This album most certainly is!

I've been enjoying every song on this CD and can't quite figure out how to categorize it. I've read some call it soulful Gospel music. There is also some island beat in there. The words hit home and carry the Truth to the masses. There is a driving, yet catchy beat on all of the songs. I love Rocky Road for the bluesy groove and Commander for the heavy driving bass. That's Exactly is a good crossover song. I really like the Beatles-like guitar riff on In Your Arms. Hard to get out of your head. There is a Way reminds us all of the love that Christ has for each of us - the Truth and the Life and the Way. All around one of my favorite albums.

This is an awesome purchase for lovers a good music!! New World Son has so many different sounds in this CD! From Reggae and Blues, to Rock and Jazz...I just loved it. Much more than I hoped for with this CD!! I originally bought it because I liked the song, There Is A Way, but found that there was much more to this band than "one hit." I love their music. Don't know if they're touring right now, but I would love to see them live someday. I heard them on K-Love Radio, a Christian station. I've been listening to K-love for a while now, and they haven't played New World Son recently. I'd love it if they would play more of this band's music!

If you're looking for a great band, try out New World Son and their great music! You don't even have to be a Christian to enjoy!! Not that I believe that Christian music is bad, well, this band sounds more mainstream to me. I don't know, just listen and you'll agree. This music is good!!

Awesome christian band with a breath of fresh air. We have a very progressive praise and worship leader in our band, and we now are playing songs from Newworldson and other progressive christian groups. When we fire up one of their songs, the excited response in the congregation is instantaneous and unbelievably favorable. If you fortunate enough to have a praise and worship leader like ours who can think outside the box, then you must listen to NWS music. I will assure you that if their music doesn't move you then nothing will. God Bless

I bought this CD after hearing "There Is A Way" on K-Love. I thoroughly enjoy the entire CD - many great songs - the "Jamaican Praise Melody" is very catchy & fun - I just wish they listed the lyrics for that song (the lyrics are listed for every song except this one). I have teenagers who also enjoy the CD. I highly recommend it!

This is one of my favorite cd's of the year! Newworldson is a terrific contemporary Christian band with a timeless message in a current format! Totally awesome! Both young and mature audiences will enjoy this cd. They incorporate contempo, rock, pop, even a little bit of a reggae/calypso style in this one. A must buy!
