the best eye patch out there,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We've tried many brands, colors, and sizes of eye patches, and this one is the best one for our 3 year old. The material "breathes," so sweat and tears don't pool up in the eye patch. It sticks to the skin well without leaving red marks or pulling out eyebrow hairs. But, it is also easy enough for my 3 year old to remove by himself.
Don't waste your money on the coverlets (the fabric doesn't breathe and they stick to the skin too much) or the ortopads (they have cool designs, but they don't stick to the skin). Go with the nexcares!

Nexcare Opticlude Eye patch,
By Before wearing, you can stick it to your arm and detach it and then use it. It is much better. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality.

Great Product,
We've tried various eye-patches for our daughter, who has to wear the patches since the age of 2.
They are great, don't hurt when taking off. Only thing to consider is that when it gets wet, it sticks more and then it might be a bit painful to take off.

I tried to use this product on my 14 month old who has strabismus in both eyes. The eye doctor wants us to patch each eye alternately for 2-3 hours. It was a struggle to get the product onto my daughter's eye, and once it was in place it did NOT stick well at all. She was able to pull it off herself in a matter of moments. I feel I wasted my money on a product that will not serve me. However, it will probably work well on older children who don't fight it as much. For my daughter, I have found that the coverlet brand works much better...it is stickier so she cannot just pull it off.

Good product,

My child has amblyopia ("lazy eye") and the doctor said she needs to patch her good eye in order to make the weaker eye work harder and make it stronger. I have used these eye patches and they seem to work well. I try to use each eye patch twice (about two hours each day.) The patches are thin so they work well with being able to wear her glasses over them.

They aren't quite sticky enough for my liking, but they stay on if you can get your child to leave them alone. I have found that when I give my son a reward sticker to put on it, he seems to have a more puffed up/proud feeling than a "mom, don't like it" attitude. At first it was difficult, so for other parents who've been tasked with patching their kids wobbly eyes . . . Here's how we got our son to comply:1. We tell him it's time to wear his patch and get a sticker like a pirate, and that it will help his eye get stronger. 2. We put the patch on (not forcefully) and let him pick out one of the stickers we use for our chore/reward chart, and put it right on the patch. 3. We show him in the mirror how he has a sticker and make a fuss, so that he feels special about it. 4. We let him know that if he leaves it on for 2 hours he will get a treat. 5. We always make good with the treat (usually a mini tootsie pop does the trick). After about 3 days, keeping the patches on were no problem.

My son has to use these at least 1 hr per day. THe small ones work great for a toddler. The stickiness is, well, STICKY! I put it on the palm of my hand first to take away some of the stickiness. That seems to help! The size is perfect

These patches are very good for my 3 month old (normal size were too big). The adhesive is excellent and the patch can be difficult to remove. I always use cavilon skin protectant under it to make sure it doesn't irritate our baby's skin.
