Really lasts through multiple hand washings,

Nexcare hit the nail on the head with these bandages. I use these on my hands, and I happen to wash my hands a LOT. These stay on securely for 18 hours for me, then I'll get the feeling that it's a tad loose. Still, 18 hours on my hands is far longer than other "water resistant" bandages, and these Nexcare bandages don't give me the feeling of a soggy bandage on my hand. They don't do so well if I apply hand lotion, it seems lotion is the Nexcare bandage's Achilles' heel and the bandage will only last for 3-4 hours then. So, if I'm wearing one of these bandages, I take care to not use lotion and I use a non-drying hand soap to help make up for it.Another thing to note, the adhesive is STRONG. This is great because the bandage stays on well. But if you need to remove the bandage, wait until it's loose or try and loosen its grip on your skin with lotion or baby oil. If you peel the bandage off when it's still grippy, doing this in the same spot on your skin, it'll likely take a thick layer of skin with it if you do this a few times. It did this to me last night, left me with a ripped bleeding patch a 1/4" wide, 3/4" long on my hand. I had to rearrange the next bandage to cover my original paper cut so that it wasn't on the bleeding ripped-off-skin area, THEN put another bandage over the ripped skin. So two bandages side by side. Lesson learned. Adhesive versus my skin, the adhesive wins, my skin loses. =)

I bought these Nexcare waterproof bandaids for my daughter, who is allergic to latex.... The description says "latex free", but when the package came, the box said: "Caution: the packaging of this package contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions." Big bummer!

works under water,
This review is from: Nexcare Waterproof Clear Bandage Assorted Sizes, 50-Count Packages (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
I accidentally wear one and had 3 dives in warm water once. The dives average at 65 ft and probably max at 100 ft twice with bottom time over 2 hours. I didn't even notice the band-aid until I hit the shower, then I realize I put it on 2 days ago. It is most impressive and especially useful if you have a cut and have to swim in salt water. However, it was medium sized, not sure if larger size will perform well.

I got this product 3 days ago, because Bandaid's waterproof bandage run out. Here are what I notice about this product. Pros: -There are 3 different sizes -It works if you put bandage on flat part of the body Cons: -It is not waterproof, even when I succeed to put without gap between skin and bandage -It leaves residue on skin and especially on nail -It comes off after two hand wash -It is very difficult to put bandage on finger, it leave gaps between skin and bandage -Extra strips on the surface of bandage, doesn't work well when I tried on round surface, such as finger I usually need to protect. Last three days, I train myself to put bandage without gaps. And I am not clumsy person, I change all the lights in my house. I went through at least 15 of them to just put bandage properly. The Bandaid waterproof bandages didn't give me any trouble and it lasted all day. I hesitated to buy Bandaid brand waterproof because it is 6 box set. But I should have get Bandaid product. I don't understand why there are bad reviews on it. All in all, this bandage is not something I use or recommend, since I cut is on my fingers 90% at a time, this product is useless. If I saw the stranger try to get this product in a store, I would warn them.

Nexcare did a good job with these bandages. Having struggled with some other brands, I have these a try and I am quite impressed. For one thing, the innovative design makes these bandages much easier to apply. The paper strips around the edges really work well. The clear plastic around the pad makes it easy to see and position that correctly. And finally, the strong adhesive and waterproof design make these bandages wear well. A good product all around and they seem to be fairly priced as well.In this assorted 50 pack you get 15 large, 15 medium and 20 small "spot" bandages. The small ones are very small and would only cover a small nick or 'spot' as described. The "medium" are what I would call average size (1 1/16" x 2 1/4") and the large are slightly bigger (1 1/4" and 2 1/2") although the pad is much bigger on the larger bandage. I gave these a shot on a lark and I am very glad I did. Recommended! Update 2011-08-26: I came back and dropped my rating to 4 stars on these. I find after using these awhile that they do not "breathe" as well as some others and this can be a problem sometimes. Wounds need air to heal. Not liking these as much as I did initially, but still good for some things as they are water-proof.

These bandages have the capability to keep a wound clean and dry. Plus, they have adhesive qualities to hold firmly, but yet can be removed without too much discomfort. This is my bandage of choice.

In short, these are the best bandages ever made. They are truly water proof, they are easy to put on, and the adhesive lasts for the good part of a day. I recently made the mistake of buying BAND-AID brand waterproof bandages, and they are a joke compared to what these can do.

Discovered these when my now 12 year old child was a baby and will never go back to the "old" type of band-aids. These seal completely around the wound keeping antibiotic ointment in and germs out. They'll stay on for several hand washings and I've kept them on blisters on my feet for several days through a shower a day. Look no further if you're serious about fighting germs.

I have been using nexcare bandaids for several years. They are very water resistant. In my work I wash my hands many times daily and if the bandaid forms a full seal around the wound the nexcare protects the cut from contaminaton from the water and foriegn matter.I can apply the bandaid in the morning and it will last all day. This helps to decrease contamination of the cut to help prevent infection and help healing. The trick is applying the bandaid. The skin should be clean and dry,the bandaid must be large enough to cover the wound with a plastic edge touching the surrounding skin all the way around the cut.You then pat down and smooth the banaid to make it stick and then remove the paper on the outer edge.As a "handyman" at home and hobbyist, I am always getting small cuts and abrasions. The Nexcare bandaid works great. |
