3.0 out of 5 stars It was okay..., January 13, 2010
This review is from: Next Generation (Audio CD)
I became a fan of Sweetbox when I first heard Everything's Gonna Be Alright, then when Jade Valerie started singing for them I was a bit hesitant until I heard her songs. The songs were catchy and unlike a lot of the pop music I heard. She had a lovely voice and the song "After the Lights" really tugged at my heart. When she left, I was disappointed.

However, I was perfectly willing to give the new singer, Jami a chance. I cleared my mind of the former Sweetbox songs and treated it as if she was the first singer coming out with the Sweetbox name attached. When I listen to music I go on what it makes me feel. This is true for any singer. I like Britney because she makes me want to get up and dance. I enjoy Bob Dylan for his lyrics. I love the Beatles for the pure enjoyment and roller-coaster their lyrics take me on.

For the record, Jami is a wonderful singer. As the previous reviewer stated her voice on "With a Love Like You" is beautiful. I also loved the track "Coming Home to You."

The problem is the songs and record, not the singer. The album is incredibly boring. The rest album reminds me of something that would be created by mixing Disney pop music with some of Rhianna's more boring tracks. The song writing didn't touch me or make me feel any strong emotions, nor did they tell any interesting stories.I couldn't even relate to the lyrics except for the aforementioned songs.

I even tried to listening to it a few more times to see if it would grow on me and it didn't.

It did very well in Japan and Korea so I urge you to give a listen and not go solely on the reviewers of a product, mine or the previous reviewers. With the price tag, please try to listen to it somewhere before you buy.

Recap: Great Singer, Bad or Boring Songs for the most part.

I like this new singer much better than Jade, she has a much wider vocal range. except for about 3 songs which i can't stand hearing, the other songs are fantastic. i'm a big sweetbox fan, so this was right up my alley. best song hands down on the CD is " U don't know what you're sorry for".

5.0 out of 5 stars Very well sang, June 10, 2009
This review is from: Next Generation (Audio CD)
One of the song in her album left me speechless. The title of this song was "With A Love Like You." This song was very well sang especially with the style of her voice and tone. Lyrics and music was awesome. I don't know what else I can say, I have never heard something this good before in my life, while I am a huge music listening person. One thing I was not sure of is the price of this album. What in the world an album cost nearly $50... But anyhow, this is a GREAT album!!!
