5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, worth $60?, June 30, 2009

I've never written a review before, but I think this album deserves it. I've had this album on vinyl for many years. Once when asked for my list of best albums of the '70s, this one came in at #1. Certainly one of the best relatively unknown albums of all time. It starts off with 2 solid rockers in "Cold hard cash" and "Museum". The haunting "Remember" starts of with a quiet acoustic guitar riff which opens up to a beautiful mid tempo rocker with a beautiful guitar solo. Side 1, on vinyl ends with my favorite up tempo tune on the album "Chinatown". The 2nd side opens with 2 ballads, with similar themes. First, "Sorry", about a guy after his girl dumps him, and the beautiful "Everybody else" where the singer tries to build up a girls self image. The 2 final songs, "Understander" and "Secret Meetings" are mid tempo rock tunes that for me, while enjoyable, are not quite as good as the rest of the album. I still love this album and kick myself for not buying the CD when it first came out. While Greg put out a lot of uneven albums over the years and had a few top ten hits in the '80s, this album is it crowning achievement, IMHO.

Another in the long line of overlooked LP's from this San Francisco based artist. Kihn mixes pop, rock and melody effectively, especially on the 7 minute long tribute to lost love "Remember", where he uses his axe skills to perfection. His back-up band is tight and in rhythm as usual on the rest of the LP. If you like melodic rock and insightful lyrics, Greg and the band invite you to listen.......
