About the Author

Simon has extensive knowledge and experience of the mobile industry gained from his six years of working for mobile operator giant, Vodafone, in areas of the company such as E-Plus in Germany, value added services, quality, marketing, packet radio, personnel and the Vodafone Business Partners Programme, which Simon setup and managed in his final 18 months. This programme managed the relations between the network and independent companies such as software developers and terminal manufacturers.

Following his time with Vodafone, Simon took on the role of Global SMS Manager for Brightpoint, the world's largest distributor of mobile phones. He traveled the world investigating the business case for the Short Messaging Service (SMS) and delivering such services to network operators.

Simon is a prolific author of books about a wide range of mobile data related topics such as SMS, WAP, GPRS and 3G. He is an acknowledged conference speaker on these and other topics and has consulted for a wide range of companies globally including Palm, NTT DoCoMo and GTE Wireless. He has been quoted in most major publications including the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Marketing, Mobile Communications International as well as publications in India, South Africa, Slovakia, Norway and many more. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
