About the Author

Patrick Bet-David, a successful financier, entrepreneur, former radio host and author of the best-selling book, "Doing the Impossible: The 25 Laws for Doing the Impossible" - offers a contrarian economic viewpoint and has insights on achieving the American Dream in the 21st century.

Patrick Bet-David is a genuine "rags to riches" success story.  Patrick came with his family to the U.S. from revolutionary Iran at 12 years old and subsequently served in the U.S. Army's prestigious 101st Airborne Division.  After his honorable discharge from the Army, Patrick got involved in the financial services industry and in 2009 created People Helping People (PHP) to share sound financial education and advice with students, families and small businesses. PHP is celebrating its first two years in business with 250 percent growth year-over-year and expansion into 33 states.

More About the Author

Patrick Bet-David has been called a renaissance man because of his interesting philosophies on politics, sports, history, humor, and life. He has spoken in front of tens of thousands of people over the past thirteen years on these topics and more. Patrick Bet-David was born and raised in revolutionary Iran. He immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of twelve in 1990. Bet-David joined the U.S. Army in 1997, where he was stationed with the 101st Airborne Division. After he was discharged from the army, Bet-David got involved in the financial services industry. In October of 2009 Bet-David launched People Helping People Insurance Agency (also known as PHP) with a unique vision to restore America by bringing back the free enterprise system to American families. PHP now has agents in thirty-three states where they market life insurance, annuities, and other financial instruments to families.

There are many professions that require forecasting; meteorologists, economists, statisticians, actuaries, business strategists, professional sports odds-makers, and even politicians. But none of them have as easy of a job projecting the future and as a result as accurate in the long-run as demographers. After all how difficult could it be to project how old a fifty year old will be in twenty years? And what have demographers been telling us for the past four decades? That at some point beginning in the 2010s and lasting for several decades, that the baby boomers born between the mid forty's and mid sixties will eventually retire and will need to be taken care off. We have known this for decades and yet very few have actually sat down to think what the opportunities will be in catering to this generation.

Economists and financial industry experts from academia, from the government, from think-tanks, and investment firms have also been telling us that after over consuming with credit cards, auto loans, student loans, and home mortgages all during the 1980's, 90s, and 00s that the average baby boomer is simply not saving enough and therefore will be ill-prepared for retirement. They need to begin planning and planning fast especially the younger baby boomers born in the late fifties and early sixties who still have time to plan well.

Historians and especially economic historians have also told us time and time again in books, articles, seminars and courses that mankind has never quite learned to put the experiences of the past to good use. That we always fail to learn from our fathers and their fathers and believe that despite all that looks the same that what we are experiencing today is far more different than in the past and that things are different this time around.

I enjoyed the book. It is right in line with what I do, Financial services. My goal in the next 3-5 years is to build a life insurance and investment agency.

One thing we were all asked at some point in your childhood is, "What do you want to be when you grow up." You aren't really told about those "typical" career paths and insurance is defiantly neglected. I was blown away by the information in this book. It brings a new light to the insurance and financial services industry. Also, is a very short read- keeps it simple.

This book not only paints of a perfect picture of what is going on in the country right now, but also how you might take advantage of this opportunity and create success for yourself. It's an easy read but it brings a tremendous amount of value. I HIGHLY recommend it!

The natural cynic might be suspicious when you first hear of this book, but I have to admit that it grabbed me right up front in the Introduction. The author Patrick Bet-David recounts his chance meeting with "Robert" in 2001, which introduced him to an industry he would come to see as next in line to be the "next perfect storm." In other words, Bet-David is predicting which industry - following past booms in banking and real estate - will experience wild success the next several years.

Spoiler alert - it's the insurance industry, but to give Bet-David credit, the five different conditions he lays out make a powerful argument that this is an industry entering its Golden Age. When you find yourself quoting points from a book to friends, you know something made sense to you. It gets a little salesy toward the end, but it reminds you that those who make money in these booms are those who read something like this and take action.

I read that book in one seating. If you are in the financial and insurance industry it paints the picture of why you're in the right industry now. And if you are not, and your open for a new opportunity, how to get involved. If you just want to understand more about money, you will definitely learn from reading it.
