5.0 out of 5 stars The "Next Stage" Guitar Book is consice, complete and easy., October 27, 1999

This review is from: The "Next Stage" Guitar Book - Learn How To Play Scale Patterns & Tabs Easily & Quickly! (Spiral-bound)
The "Next Stage" guitar book by Chris Lopez is a work that is long overdue. The book approaches Major and Pentatonic scales from several angles to make learning easy and understandable. Every new student (and some old) to the guitar should have this book in their arsenal of information. The text at the beginning of the book is highly informative. I have used this book with my students in conjunction with our Kradl picks, and we have seen stunning progress, both in terms of technique and a general understanding of music theory. The "Next Stage" guitar books is consice, complete and "user friendly."

This guitar book is very clear and to the point with bold and easy to understand illustrations. I also highly recommend The "First Stage" Guitar Book - Learn How To Play Guitar Easily & Quickly! Both these guitar books make a great package in learning how to play guitar.

This book continues to present the need to know, nuts and bolts information that's necessary to play the guitar. This second book builds on the first by introducing the reader to scales and how to play the scales from many different positions on the fretboard. There's enough info in this book to keep a person busy for a long, long time, but again it's given in an easy to comprehend format that seeks not to confuse, but to provide a practical, down to earth guide to making some music with your guitar. Don't miss out on this unique book.

5.0 out of 5 stars From a 3 X's failed guitar Student, September 14, 2010

OK so you want to play guitar? First get this book, a metronome/ tuner, a guitar you like, extra sets of strings, a realistic practice schedule and choose a Beginner Course you can learn on your own. But make this book part of your training routine. You won't be sorry. This is essential knowledge and training- MOST TEACHER FAIL TO TEACH A LOT OF THE STUFF IN THIS BOOK, BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW THE STUFF THEMSELVES. Yes this book is that good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Music Library "Must Have"....., July 18, 2008
This is a great follow-up to Chris Lopez' "First Stage" guitar book for beginners. I am in the transition stage; going from beginner to intermediate in my playing and not only do I take lessons one hour per week, but I also go back to these books for the basics. They are easy to follow, and will help you remember the basics of playing that guitar....
