Runs graphics heavy apps like Angry Birds Space perfectly, and most apps work great.

I'd recommend saving for a little longer and getting an older used high end tablet than wasting money on one that will probably only last a few months, if that.

It doesn't work with Kindle, and it doesn't work at all with Google Play...so you can't download any worthwhile apps or read a book except with Barnes & Noble.

This review is for the Nextbook Premium 7SE tablet, running Android 4.0 with a Cortex A8 processor.

First off, the specs:

7 inch Capacitive touch screen
800x480 pixel resolution
RK2918 A8 Cortex chipset/processor, 1 GHz
512 MB ram DDR3
Over the air update capable
4 GB memory
0.44 inch thin
MicroSD compatible, easy setup
GetJar app market (NOT Google Play compatible, however it IS compatible with Amazon's appstore)
2 MP frontal camera
Preloaded Barnes & Noble bookstore and eBook reader
Includes speakers, headphone port and microphone on the back
Adobe Flash capable and bundled
Includes AC adapter, USB cable and a "protective" pouch (translation: cheap, fabric bag)

As you can see, not too shabby for a budget tablet. I WOULD have bought the Kindle Fire, but I just use tablets for reading and the occasional Angry Birds boredom session, so the tradeoff is fair enough for me. Now for the pros:

-Excellent screen quality. Images are clear, video playback and streaming so far works great and transitions are near-flawless with the occasional hiccup.
-Super thin and light. This tablet is very easy to carry and almost weightless, which is a nice bonus for people who don't like heavy things. I prefer them to be a bit heavier (they feel more secure) but I didn't mind the size here.
-Runs graphics heavy apps like Angry Birds Space perfectly, and most apps work great.
-Its default browser is surprisingly capable in my opinion and offers competition against Dolphin HD. Haven't had one issue with it.
-WiFi connection is easy to set up and the start up wizard is competent.
-If I'm correct, you can use this as a webcam on your computer, but I have yet to try this function.

I have been using the Next 7P for a year. Nobody beats the price for what you get. When I first bought it, I liked it enough that I bought two more for my grandkids. As another review stated, the Kobo app is a non-functioner. It is easy enough to install amazon app store and download the kindle app, but Kindle's recent updates DON'T work well with it. Stick to Kindle 2.1 and it works great.

It runs most apps well, and meets all my expectations at purchase time. If there is a serious isse for me, it is the limited internal memory. For most users, simply moving the apps to the external sd card will free space, but some apps will not move.

I use my tablet to read books, play games, check and send e-mail, build Powerpoint presentations and write sermons. My grandkids mostly play games. One warning- don't let the kids step on it. It will not grow a new glass or lcd cluster. The tablet seldom locks up, and is simple to re-boot.

Because of problems with the kindle update, I sent the tablet to my computer guru, who used his android phone to upgrade my tablet from build v2.24 gingerbread to v2.27. since then, the tablet has worked very well, I know have the Google app store, and the Kindle problems(blurred graphics)are gone.

Since my husband and I think giving iPads to children is insane, we bought this tablet for our 10 year old daughter for Christmas, it's mean to be her main gift. Thank goodness I decided to set everything up in advance of giving it to her because it's definitely being returned.

Pros:

-It's inexpensive. I paid under sixty bucks including shipping and tax.
-It's basic
-It's compatible with Google mobile products and is running Jellybean. But it can't be upgraded beyond the version it is now.
-It has an SD slot, so you can expand the memory with an SD card.

Cons:
-It feels cheap and flimsy
-The external speaker is VERY difficult to hear, you'll need headphones or will have to hold it up to your face to hear anything. Not that convenient if you're trying to watch a video.
-The screen resolution isn't very good. It's fine for a kid, but it looks like someone has smeared something greasy all over it (even though they haven't, it's just low resolution)
-It's slow. Again, fine for a kid but an adult who has used any other tablets will definitely notice.
-The touch screen is poor. You need to push pretty hard to get it to recognize that you're touching it and that doesn't work so well when typing anything. Like an email. Or a website. Or pretty much anything.
-It can only be charged with the charger it came with which is not a micro USB. It's probably going to be a pain to find a replacement if you lose it or when it breaks.
-It charges slowly and the battery life is short.

The final reason I decided to return it was the un-responsive screen. It was very difficult to get it to recognize touch so it made it hard to even access the settings to set it up.

Verified Purchase
I had bought this same exact model NextBook at Walmart on a Christmas special buy. When I needed a second one for my other child, the special buy was over and I had to look on line. The one from Walmart came with Google Play, this one did not and was $40 more. The app store that this tablet comes loaded with (Getjar) sucks. Can't get any good apps like on Google Play. Games are generic knock offs. Then one day while charging I tripped over the cord and it fell from my nightstand onto a carpeted floor. The screen shattered and didn't work at all any more. I found a much cheaper tablet with Google Play that we love!!!
