5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Device!!, February 15, 2007

If you have a need to control devices from a distance, this is the product for you.
Install the transmitter in the battery compartment of your standard remote, place the receiver near the devices to be controlled, and you are done!

No need to spend more money on a new remote, train a remote and no need to position a relay component in the room that you are controlling the device from.

This thing is amazing that it internally picks up the remote signal, and turns it into RF for transmission to the extender receiver.

The IR is strong on the receiver end, and basically just needs to be in the same room as the devices to control. (it also comes with the wired extender if you need to place the control on the front of a device.

You can control multiple devices from the same receiver, and use the original remote controls too.

I am controlling a Direct Tivo from a room 3 floor's up on the opposite end of the house, and from 3 separate locations with 3 separate remotes. Distance is great.
I use the same receiver to control an outdoor sound system, using the factory remote.

If you want to use more devices, just purchase the additional transmitters to put in your remote controls.

This is an outstanding device that is extremely simple to setup and use.

Two thumbs up!!

This battery is a little hard to find as it is unique to the Next Gen RF Transmitter. Not only did we find it here, but it was at a reasonable price. It seems to be working fine (still haven't taken it out of the charger yet) but it has taken a full charge and is just waiting for the primary battery to fail and then then when I put this one in, I would hope that the time between charges improves over my old original. Believe we will be fine but too early to tell.

I love my NextGen, but their rechargeable batteries have short lives. About 18 months in my experience. Not a big deal, I now buy in batches of 3 and rotate them through the charger/receiver. With time they slowly degrade to the point of failure to work for more than one day at a time.

This battery works perfect with my Next Generation Remote Control Extender. It made a huge difference when I replaced this battery. My extender started working much better. I guess the old batteries wear out over time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked as RF transmitter in Logitech remote, January 19, 2011

Bought this to replace the original batteries/RF transmitters that came with the RF converter that I use with my Logitech Harmony 510 remote. These seem to work just as well and hopefully will hold the charge like the other batteries did when new. After about 8 - 12 months with the old batteries/RF transmitters they would only last about two weeks before needing to be swapped to be recharged.

The battery works just like the original. It holds the charge well. I noticed that the life of these battery is about 1+ years and after that it does not hold a charge very well.
