Get in the groove with the Nextar MA230-5S digital MP3 player. The compact device supports a host of audio formats, including WMA, WMA-DRM10, MP3 (8 to 320 kbps), ASF, and MTV's Urge, giving you plenty of options when working out at the gym or commuting to work. In addition, the MP3 player displays both JPEG images and AMV video files on the 64,000-color LCD display, with support for AVI, WMV, ASF, RM, MPEG, MOV, and VOB formats using the included Movie Converter tool. Listeners will also dig the unit's multiple playback modes, which include folder repeat, repeat one, repeat all, random play, and intro play. And should you want to record an interview or take a few voice notes, the MA230 can handle that, too, with a built-in microphone and a line-in input for recording voices in WAV format.

Storage-wise, the unit offers 512 MB of flash memory, enough for up to eight hours of MP3 music and 16 hours of WMA audio. The unit's seven-band equalizer, meanwhile, lets you customize your audio options, with natural, rock, pop, soft, classic, jazz, and digital bass boost settings. Add in an integrated FM radio receiver and recorder--which let you catch up on all your favorite FM programs--and you have everything you need for hours of on-the-go audio entertainment. Other details include a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a sync lyric function that displays the lyrics to your favorite songs while you listen (requires .LRC files), a USB 2.0 interface, and an attractive silver brushed metal finish. The MA230, which runs for roughly 10 hours per charge, measures 2.75 by 1.5 by 0.5 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty.

The product was very hard to set up and the set-up disk that came with it was infected with a virus that downloaded on to my computer.
