Get in the groove with the Nextar MA933A-5B digital MP3 player. The compact device supports a host of audio formats, including MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, and WAV, giving you plenty of options when working out at the gym or commuting to work. Listeners will also dig the MP3 player's multiple playback modes, which include repeat play (one and all tracks), random play, and browse play. And should you need to record an interview or take a few voice notes, the MA933A handles that, too, with a built-in microphone that records into WAV format. After recording, you can easily transcribe the files via such playback options as section repeat and comparison repeat--a must when trying to decipher a hard-to-follow section.

Storage-wise, the unit offers 512 MB of flash memory, enough for up to eight hours of MP3 music and 16 hours of WMA audio. The unit's seven-band equalizer, meanwhile, lets you customize your audio options, with natural, rock, pop, classic, jazz, and digital bass boost settings. Add in a dot-matrix LCD display--with seven different backlight colors to keep things interesting and a visual picture menu with individual icons--and you have everything you need for hours of on-the-go audio entertainment. Other details include ID3 tagging, support for multiple languages, a sync lyric function that displays the lyrics to your favorite songs while you listen (requires .LRC files), and a direct USB 2.0 plug that connects directly to your computer--no cable required. The MA933A, which runs for 10 hours on one AAA battery, sports a blue housing that measures a mere 4 by 1 by 0.8 inches (W x H x D). The MP3 player is also backed by a 90-day warranty.

The sound quality is excellent and this is a good buy for the money. The instruction manual that came with it is hopeless, however, and I had to go to the Nextar website to discover that it needed to be reformated before I could download music.

The mp3 player I purchased work perfect for three weeks, since then every time it is touched more moved it shuts itself off. When you turn it back on, it goes back to the song that was playing when you first turned it on. It was never dropped or mishandled, so this purchase was very dissapointing.

Well, I recieved the product promptly, but the compartment for the battery was not easy to figure out how to get off. THen, I have two of them for both of my kids. One of them constantly shorts out and the other one occasionally does so. It has been very frustrating for me and my boys.

It worked flawlessly out of the box after i downloaded some mp3's to it. But the following day I decided to load the rest of my mp3's, I connected it and left it connected to the pc transfering the songs. What a mistake that was. There's no warning about leaving it connected to the usb port like a regular flash drive. I came back to find the aaa battery had overheated as if it was charging it. The battery melted and the unit is ruined.

Well! if it was supposed to charge the battery while connected, the manual did not state that. Cheap chinese junk like this should be buy 1 get 1 free. And it's not worth sending it back because i live outside of the u.s. and shipping charges would amount to more than the product.

So in short, u get what u pay for. Not so dissapointed it happened though. I almost bought one of those chinese 27" pc monitors. Think now I'll gladly pay the $$$ more for a brand name monitor.

As for the mp3, I'll get a sandisk creative or ipod.

Like other reviewers, I found this item frustrating. The item would turn itself off, and then hardly turn itself on. I thought that maybe something was the matter with the battery that it came with, but when I changed the battery, it wouldn't work at all! After fiddling with it awhile, I found that the battery doesn't fit snugly in the battery compartment, so it comes loose and turns off.

I liked the price, and the fact that it was a good started player for my younger children, but it didn't even hold up under normal usage.

I purchased this for my [...]son, and for the price it's not too bad.

It's very easy to use. You just plug it into the USB port on you PC and copy the songs over. You can use either Windows Explorer or MP3 player software. I used MusicMatch. There is no cable to loose.

The controls are simple to use as well. My son has no problems using it.

The only thing I didn't like about it is the headphones. They are very cheap and have terrible sound quality. I had an old pair laying around the house and used them, and it sounded just fine.

I wouldn't have purchased this for myself, but as an inexpensive player for a child, it's not bad.

I purchased this mp3 player as a Christmas gift for a friend. The friend that I am I volunteered to set up the player. I have never had any problem setting up my ipod nor the others I have set up for friends. I still have not figured out how to download music to this thing. The directions are terrible and the website is not any better. Buyer Beware!
