simply the best, July 3, 2006
This review is from: Nextar MP1607 Mobile 7" DVD Player (CD-ROM)
don;t spend $1000 on a custom installed DVD player in your head rest. Don;t spend $200 on a dual screen DVD system. don't spend $90 on a portable DVD player. This thing does it all. Here are the reasons this is a great buy...
-$150, is a great price for the features
-the headrest mounting system is far superior to any other model
-all the in and outs your need. Connect a game player or out put the DVD to a TV in your hotel room
-small compact
-easy to set up
-great picture and sound quality
-plays MP3s with perfection.
I can't say enough about how overjoyed I am with this product. Like the review posted earlier, I too have never submitted an online review of a product until this one.

Great dvd player for back of headrest!, June 22, 2006
This review is from: Nextar MP1607 Mobile 7" DVD Player (CD-ROM)
I don't ever write reviews, but wanted to share my experience with those who are having a hard time finding the perfect dvd player for the back of headrest. I originally bought a portable Sony 8" dvd player and was using a Case Logic dvd bag to strap it on the back of the headrest or hang in between the 2 bucket seats and it was horrible. The dvd player kept sagging when positioned in the middle and when it was positioned on the headrest my daughter kept kicking it shut. Plus, it was very messy looking with like 100 straps everywhere:( I even tried the Mo-Go platform dvd holder and that was horrible too. I just got the Nextar and I couldn't believe how good the quality of the picture and sound were. I was expecting it to totally stink. Better than the Sony I have and much cheaper. The picture was so much better than the Audiovox dual 7" car dvd set or any other mobile dvd for the headrest. The way it hooks onto the headrest is what really sold me in the first place. No straps or velcro; it's a very clean hookup and may be angled up and down. No other car dvd player has this hookup. You can even take it off the prongs and use it as a portable. Super easy to use! The Nextar has all the features I was looking for. I only wish they made it in a larger screen, but it's more than adequate for backseat enjoyment. Even has an FM transmitter, so you can hear the sound on your car speakers. Unbelievable & I'm a very picky person! Don't waste your time and money on another set.

Great dvd player and not just for the car!, August 7, 2006
This review is from: Nextar MP1607 Mobile 7" DVD Player (CD-ROM)
We were looking to buy a Grand Caravan and were purchasing one without the dvd built in and so were checking options for putting a dvd in there for the kids. We found this Nextar Mobile Dvd player in Target stores for only $149.99 and were amazed at how great it was for the price. The way it attaches to the car seat headrest is easy and convenient, it doesn't move around like the ones that strap on, the screen pivots so you can adjust it and best of all you can use either wireless fm headsets (available at walmart for $20 each) or you can purchase a connector from radio shack for about $8 with attachments for up to 3 sets of earphones. We went initially with the wireless route but found all three channels gave static on the headphones that was distracting, so took them back and went with the wired approach and it works perfectly. The dvd player itself has a great screen, large enough for all three of our daughters to watch with bright colors and for a quarter of the price of an overhead video dvd player, you just can't go wrong. The dvd players comes with AC power, car AC power connector AND battery that you can charge up to use when you don't have power available. You can change it between vehicles, you can use it at home, you can go camping and watch a movie in your tent - this dvd player does it all!
