In 2008 when I bought these batteries, they were the only ones available without going through a more expensive retailer.

I am still using these batteries.

The 1500 mAh specification indicated that the battery should last twice as long as the original Canon battery, and it does. My Canon XSi does not need battery replacement / charging while I am taking 800 photos because I have the vertical / battery grip with two of these batteries. You still need to buy a charger specifically designed for these batteries if you plan on charging more than one at a time, assuming you have the charger that came with the camera.

I just clicked the link to these batteries and find that they are now 2000 mAh and cost only $9.09 each. I paid $35.85 for two PLUS I paid $6.98 for shipping. Since I am ordering two sets of these batteries (with two batteries in each set), I wonder whether I will receive 2000 mAh batteries (as pictured) or 1500 mAh batteries.

Don't you just love it when you pay DOUBLE for shipping when ordering two of a small item that can be shipped for the price of ONE?!
