I have been using Gmail and other Google products for several years, but I am not by any means computer savvy, so I ordered this book thinking it would be a tell all of all the neat features and tips on how to use everything. I was halfway through the book before I found even one useful tip (how to set up home screen). The tip suggested going to see a free video tutorial, instead of reading the section. There is a lot of history in the book, and a lot of talk about what he likes about Apple products. I felt this book would be more aptly titled " Comparing Apple Products To The Nexus 10- What I like and What I don't Like"
I have had more luck finding the type information I was wanting by searching the internet.

If you are one of the smart ones out there to break away from the masses and buy a Nexus 10 instead of an overpriced iPad, then you will have some change left in your pocket to buy this book. What's even cooler is that you can read it right on your new tablet! (Just go the the Google Play store and download the Kindle app, and purchase it through there). Or, buy it in the paper form and sit it alongside your tablet as you go through it.

This book is a must read if the N10 is your first Android tablet. Marcus writes in an easy-to-read, conversational way. You will learn how to create a Google account so that you can buy your apps (well, any that aren't free), what to use and what not to use your tablet for, what that mysterious Cloud is, how to use Google Drive and Google Docs, security and passwords, etc.

Then you'll get into the fun stuff--personalizing your home screen, finding new widgets and placing them where you want them (since Android lets you customize in all kinds of ways that Apple does not), settings you will want to adjust, built-in apps, other recommended apps, how to do a Google search by talking into your tablet. You'll find a handy list of accessories to consider. The author includes a detailed chapter on how to combine your email accounts into one and actually eliminate all the garbage you've been wading through to find what is really important. He's got a quite interesting chapter on the history of antivirus software somewhere in the middle.

While I wouldn't call this a user's guide, you will find thorough explanations and instructions in all those areas where a user's guide leaves you hanging.

Definitely geared towards the Newbie. Not for you if you are looking for in depth info. The user's guide that can be downloaded for free on the Play Store is much more detailed and probably all you need.

I was looking for a step-by step guide; most of this book is not like that. It has a lot of history and praises for Google, and it assumes a knowledge of Android that I don't have.

This is nothing more than a Rah-Rah book of isn't the Nexus 10 great. The Nexus 10 is a great little tablet but I do not need a book to tell me that. I learned absolutely nothing useful from this book.

I was disappointed in the book. I thought it would be more of a teaching manual. Waiting for a more comprehensive book to come out.
